AC Fat-Alfie Championship Classic race#2@Bremgarten, Tue 25th October 2022

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Bit surprised by the level of criticism for this car's suspension. Having no clue how to set it up I just left well alone and practiced how to live with it's characteristics. I'll have a go with Fulvio's setup and see if that makes any difference.

As with last week, I put a bit of practice into this circuit/car combo and got my laptimes down. Watching other fast drivers gave me some hints on where to make up time.

Very pleased with a time in the 2:26s for quali but I knew that wasn't a sustainable race pace. Not if I wanted to stay on the track!

A bit cautious off the start and lost a few places. But it's a long race so guessed I could make up some places as others fell off.

Had a good battle with Hank for the first part of the race. Suspected I was a bit quicker, but not enough to get by with a safe move. Did an early pitstop with the hope of an undercut and this seemed to work as Hank was about 10sec behind when he pitted.

Was then chasing Laurent for that last few laps but we were identical for pace so made no progress.

Happy with 5th and pleased to keep it on the track for an hour.

Looking forward to the next FatAlfie track...

a did a small test on the ferrari i was having less understeer which is not normal between the 2 cars i think i did something broken on the tvr

Ha Ha, I do not think it is possible to break this pile of sh*t, today I spent an hour with every setup I could. In an attempt to control the thing.
Managed a mid-26, but the same problem still exists, I just cannot get my timings right or my responses quick enough.
I think on a more open circuit with much bigger errors of margin, maybe I could just scrape by.
So there is nothing to be gained with setting up this codpiece, it is for this circuit all about exact repetitious timing and quick controlled reactions, which is all driver-focused.
I did think I should have put more practice in, but after this hour I spent, it would have made no difference.:roflmao::roflmao:

funny enough i bet both cars can go to 24. 24 low for tvr 24 mid/high gto in this track in 10 laps which i couldnt put sectors together and with some adjustment i did this , (also fuel was at 100% in this test 30L 4.3laps)

Usually when finishing second to last I would be a bit disappointed, but the positions I gained or lost don't reflect the fun I had.

Enjoyed this circuit a lot more than Thompson in the GTO. Some good turns to really throw it at. It was nice too to see others making it competitive too against the TVR. Last race made it seem like they might have the edge.

Sorry for that bump on lap 1 Colin, had a better exit onto the back straight, but then found myself on your wrong side to pass through the turn. Great job holding your car together.

Congrats to the podiums. What a job to keep it on track going that fast all race.

See you all next round
