F1 24 - v1.8 - Performance and Physic Tweaks - Edited car performance, damage and world physics settings.

Hi all,

These are my ERP/XML settings for F1 24, V1.8.

I wasn't happy with the base game settings and have basically spent most of my game time (96.3 hours), editing the world physics (compression), damage physics and tyre compound files to have a more enjoyable time. All changes made are the same across all teams, including your "create a team". Individual car performance has not been altered.

These settings have been tested and seem to work in new and saved Career modes and Grand...

i know you just posted this with only XML files, but could you do it with Serp? cause this mod looks amazing.
sorry if it's a big ask
I will see how Serps work and look into it. If I can, it'll be a separate post but both posts will be in sync with the same settings. I'll either be able to upload the Serp version in the coming days (before the 26th) or it will be a few weeks, as I will be away from my computer for a bit.

To clarify just in case, the edited XML files in this mod are already imported into the relevant "teams" ERP.

Vector18 updated F1 24 - v1.8 - Performance and Physic Tweaks with a new update entry:

F1 24 - v1.8 - Performance and Physic Tweaks [SERPs] Compatible

This update contains:

A few corrections to small values that were missed when copying and pasting across XMLs.

Cleaned up the installation process to be
1. Unzip ZIP folder
2. Copy one desired folder from the list below
3. Paste in " *:\*\Steam\steamapps\common\F1 24 "
4. Yes to replace files

Additional Notes:
Having looked into how SERPs work, I have also included a SERPs version, and a SERPs and the individual files version so Red Bull and the FOM...

Hi there just a question, I noticed there's 3 files and they're named "SERPS + RB and FOM Individual Versions" and "SERPS Version" do I have to still install the contents of both folders or do I just pick one of them folders to install, I'm a little confused that's all

Hi, you only need to copy and paste one of those folders into the main F1 24 directory and then click "replace". The 3 folders are for 3 different individual modding situations/methods.

If you are using SERPs, I recommend just using the "SERPS + RB and FOM Individual Versions" folder for now.

I'm not sure if it's just me but I had issues using only SERPs, as the Red Bull and FOM cars didn't have the mod working fully.

Hope that makes sense, happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability though. I'll try to make the installation process less confusing on the main page for the mod.

Awesome thank you so much, you're a legend for doing this mod!

Thanks for this mod. One question - when doing SERPS method (Method 2) I only needed to replace 5 files. Does this mean something went wrong?
No problem. Replacing 5 files is correct for method 2. I have just updated the description, not sure why I put 10 sorry. Thank you for bringing that to my attention

Odd that you get high praise yet they don't take the time to rate this mod.:O_o: There is currently a "dirty air, loss of traction, less DRS effect" mod that worked through V1.6 extremely well. Hasn't been updated, you may want to look at adding that into this. Also breaking DRS trains. And AI perfect ERS management. Like how Overtake = Hotlaps does. However I disagree strongly that tires need to be changed. That is 100% a setup issue from track to track. This 41/21 front and 9/1 or 7/1 rear is completely wrong. Also note that as for regen on ERS engine braking WILL wear the rear tires. To find the right balance at a track practice sessions are key. Making sure your surface temps don't go into the the yellow or really bad into the Red will greatly increase tire life as well as steady throttle application, not stabby. I race 100% races and have great tire management. I used to race 50% but I find 100% is a better experience. It has really helped me perfect tire life and gain an advantage over the AI.

It would be interesting to see how people rate it, I didn't upload it with that intent though.

I did try those mods you mentioned before I decided to make my own. Damage was my main focus along with making the front end less "pointy" and having less DRS trains. I did look into changing the ERS power but with changes I made to the "Max Compression", I decided I didn't need to do it as the "Max Compression" changes I made, seemed to get my desired goal of less DRS trains.
I found decreasing the slip angle for tyres (for more slippage and helped with the front end being less pointy), meant that on stock tyre settings, they would wear out a lot quicker. With the testing I did, the soft tyres were between 9 - 15% worn after lap 1. After I changed the tyre wear, they now get around 2 - 4% wear after lap 1 (at Australia).

Can you please elaborate on what you meant with this? "This 41/21 front and 9/1 or 7/1 rear is completely wrong.". The more knowledge I have on things, the better I can understand what I'm changing in the future.

As this mod tweaks the car performance, I wonder if it is ok to apply this mod for already existing career file. Can you please answer this?
In my testing, I know that it will apply the changes to an already saved career mode. I do not know how it will affect the career mode long term or for cars with upgrades, but it was my intention to only change values that were consistent throughout all cars settings.

The "performance tweaks" are across all the cars and refer to how the cars handle, for example, they have less front end so taking corners is different (more understeer) to stock settings. With the settings I have changed, they were the same across all the cars originally and they remain to be the same across all the cars, just tweaked.

Yeah Vector that sounds like what you should be getting after a lap at Australia as far as tire wear goes. (4-5% on a 50% race, 2% to even a tire or two with 1% on 100% race) if the setup is right. And by 41/21 I mean this idea that the front spring and anti-roll should almost always be 41/21 and the rear very low at 7/1. It is something the Youtubers did at game launch who had no clue how to setup a car and thought "Gee if it works in time trial mode then it must work for everything..." Well there is no tire wear in time trial mode or tire heat. The car acts like an AI car when it comes to tires. Then came all the forum crying and complaining and whining after those of us that put in many hours during Beta testing over 100 for myself. And closing in on 400 for the game. To help get the physics perfect and the AI to not be on a roller coaster track. (We tried very hard to get them to modify the AI even more for 3 months of testing. But they just didn't want to listen.) They went away from the handling physics that were built off Real F1 driver input and their simulators. Because all these Forum and Youtube crybabies thought they knew more about a real F1 car than real drivers and engineers.

Any Fix to AI on softs in rain ?
The game doesn't need a fix for this. It's in the setup, that cannot be stressed enough. I'm going to guess your problem is rear grip and slipping. Maybe even some understeer. Well the rear grip and slipping is because your rear suspension is too soft and your rear anti-roll bars also to soft. This doesn't mean a drastic change but as a base line try 16/12 or 14/10. Some more low speed corner tracks require higher levels like 18/14 or even 24-26/15-16 on the rear end to muster out of a tight turn onto a straight without eating the rears, IE Austria. You'll find in mixed conditions you'll have better traction, also bump the diff (base 35) up to around 50 once the rain starts. This will cause more rear tire deg but since you are likely to be moving off the slicks soon who cares right. Edit: Beware of rear snap when upping the diff. ;)
