quali - 14th - only decent lap was ruined when frede decided to get past when there wasn't a big enough of a gap at the start of the lap, because I was obviously going to be slower. Suppose it doesn't matter though as I'm **** slow.

Race - 13 I think? - Being slow and having horrid tyre wear, pitted 5 times :/, I was never going to have a good race, but I gained a few places when other people dropped out.

As you all might know at this point, my quali lap was far from good enough. It was however an expected outcome, as I decided to tweak my setup to fit better for the race. I am pretty sure that I by a mistake blocked Mitchell's flying lap, and I am very sorry IF that is the case. I will promise to look into it tomorrow. Yeh shy, sorry for the overtake, but my first two sectors were pretty great, so I thought it was worth overtaking you, and as I did it on a straight I thought it wouldn't harm you.

R: 1st
I was actually pretty pleased with the start, even though I lost a position, but I quickly noticed that the top 3 guys created a pretty decent gap to the train in the middle of the field. I did however don't feel that I had the pace during the first stint to fight for any positions, so I decided to pit already in lap 3, as I knew one lap more on my options would have harmed my race. And I do really like the undercuts haha.

It seemed to work, as my first undercut ended with me as 2nd, but I felt very unlucky with the traffic at times, so it was very frustrating, as so many guys decided to start on primes. It gave me some overtakes, but god damn some of them were on the line.. I managed to keep the gap to Alistair at around 3 seconds during the main part of the second stint, but I became aware that he struggled more than me when the tyres were just a little worn, which of course gained me some time. Before my last pit stop, I was around 1.5 seconds behind him, and I knew that I had to do the undercut now.

I did do the undercut, and this was just perfect, as I managed to get more than 1 second away from him, which meant he couldn't use DRS to catch me. This 1 second gap was soon up to around 3.5 seconds, as Alistair made a mistake in the 1st sector. I now knew that I had the win in my hands, and therefore decided to do some relaxed driving, as I really didn't want to lose the win. Alistair really turned up his pace through the last few laps, but I juuuust managed to take my first RaceDepartment TC win - What a great feeling!

And this has put me in the lead of the driver championship and made the Constructor championship gap even bigger.

And can I just say.. Thanks @Jamie-Lee Mayers, thanks! This is a team job, right? Couldn't have made it without ya

But i have had same taste of **** in malaysia too where i pitted two laps before the race. Time for me to figure out my strategy and my **** of course

I thought you were going for the three stopper. Oh well, your pace seemed to be very strong so hopefully next race we can decide on strategy before hand.

I did not know what to do lol but surely in future races i have to plan out my strategy otherwise no use of strong pace

They always want to watch... then after the first 5 laps they get bored... my gf hates watching me race... lol.

huge lag spike from manuel towards the end of the race. sent me into the air and barriers! was doing well on a 2 stop strategy.

fun race anyway. avoided carnage and also a potential crash with shboob when he cut across me at t4. better luck next time i guess!

Just make sure you don't get a good start and then you can't

Yes no harm at all, had to get out of the throttle and take a really wide line in the long right hander before the back straight when you dived up the inside then I had a car in the way for the braking zone for the hairpin and the final corner. But as I said it obviously doesn't matter because i'm slow, so I don't really care.

At 4:50 it became quite intense with 5-6 drivers within 200m of eachother..
