for me i was leadin the race and probably with 2 stops strategy i could have won it anyway my fault has to have tried to pass over a pole in a turn that was just BROKEN but it was like a phantom one so as i ve passed my car exploded and race finished

Early Review of my race before I piece together a video.

Quali: Didn't feel good going into quali as I forgot to save my setup and wasn't physically feeling well to race, but with my only timed lap I got pole by a few tenths of a second which was surprising because I knew there was another 3 tenths of time available based on practice, although my set up may have been a part of that.

Race: I get off the line about as good as someone without KERS could manage. Henri went down the inside into T1, I tried to give him room but still defend my position as hard as I could as I knew I would struggle to pass anyone back because I lack KERS. We made contact and I think he spun slightly, but I'm not quite sure.

I proceed to build up a solid lead, ranging between 4-6 seconds. If I could stop making mistakes into T9/10 then I would have consistently increased that but every few laps I was losing about half a second there.

I pit early to protect my lead and I knew I could comfortably manage a 2 stop, so I could play with my strategy to suit me. After the stops I had roughly the same sort of lead as before but I wasn't driving great, I kept making small mistakes. Finally at the start of lap 27 I take too much kerb into T1, I hit where there is normally a bollard and my car promptly exploded... Race over

I'm pretty gutted because I knew this week I was quick enough to win. On a day where I was concentrating a bit better, I would not have made that error but it is still something I don't expect to happen and I'm not happy that my race had to end that way...

EDIT- Looks like myself and Luigi in GP2 had the exact same problem... Damn you Codemasters, this isn't a new bug

Yep, Ben. no suprises here, it should be an interesting season, recon we can work well together.

- Have you decided on a car you would like to drive for season 6?

Yep, but like Ben said, we'll have to see how we do in the races.

- Do you buy into the idea the cars are different(when set on equal) or do you find them the same to handle?

There are subtle pace differences, but as for the handling, I'm never sure if they are different or it just in my head?!!

-Any aims/goals/thoughts about the upcoming season you want to share?

I did far better than I thought i would last season, so more of the same. To be competative, consistent and hopefully have a bunch more great races.

Disappointed with this race.

Could have fought for a podium but instead all my hopes were gone right after the restart of the SC.
1st lap of the restart: Dave pushed me off the track at turn 11, and then I had to deal with panda lags, which gave me a penalty for no reason...

less than 30 laps to go and a 30s gap with the leader, race was over...

Very frustrating because I knew I could have done very well since I had the pace for a very good result, for once

Surprised myself with the position. Wasn't near my PB time though.

R - DNF

Heartbreaking moment heading into turn 3 as the wheel disconnected. Rejoined some 40 secs behind the penultimate car. Tried to go long on the stint and make one less stop. Found myself 9th with a few laps to go, but was holding onto to ticking time bomb and eventually the left front went with disastrous consequences.

I hate myself for getting a penalty (which was my fault, sry Emil!) and spinning in lap 55, but I've got it back together and made a highlights vid (of the first race I finished last in)... Painful but fun! I went for an agressive 3 stop strategy (necessary in a tire-eating monster like the Williams) and it paid off, until the SC ended my ambitions and set everyone back to zero.

@Adel Elsayed if you have any footage of lap 3 with what happened between you and @Kieran Harrison I think you should post it in here. I was behind you two when the incident happened and it was clear that Kieran swiped you off and sent both of you flying into the wall. Might of been lag I don't know.

Q - 7th - pretty happy with that considering I only did one run and the lap was far from perfect.

R - 8th - I have no idea what happened at the first corner but either way it wasn't an ideal start to the race. I had the pace to finish 6th, but I made so many mistakes throughout the race with running onto the grass and into gravel traps. I almost had Theo on the 2nd to last lap, but I ran through the gravel when I went to overtake him and ended up losing a position to Jeremy instead.
