The formation lap:
Ok this is a new art and we are getting the hang of it but to try to help us get better:
The goal is to have cars in the same order as above by the end of lap 1.
Please be aware of where you need to be before we start.
If you are in a tier 1 car basically race to the front.
If you are in a tier 4 or 5 car get to the back asap. Poss pull off the racing line and back off in an accelleration zone, or have an off track excursion.
Tiers 2 go at 80% race pace and let the Tier 1 cars go.
Tier 3 go at 60% pace and let Tier 2 cars go.
Once in position please say eg "Renault in position" to simplify the chat at this stage.
Club Race Concept
” Weekly Club Pro Am”
Many of us are practicing during the week for the Xbox RD F1 WC series League race. This club event is a weekly race at the same track for that week’s scheduled league race.
Who:
· League Racers wanting to practice, test setups, gauge their pace, strategy or possibly practice with less assists on this week’s circuit.
· Club Racers wanting a clean weekly race with some fast drivers.
· New drivers wanting an experience of high quality multiplayer racing without the pressure and commitment of an official league.
What:
Event to serve as both a practice race for league racers and a place for developing drivers to get some experience and fun. The emphasis is on good fun clean racing and a supportive environment for developing drivers. Some of the more experienced drivers will share setups and track tips as well as offer some casual coaching where requested. Open to all licensed RD members (get your license today!).
How:
Format: This week will be race only with a formation lap to establish our planned starting order. 50% Race Distance, 2010 cars issued in reverse rank order (ie handicap) , Sims: Fuel and Tyre Sims on, damage and flags on. Assists: We are planning on taking the actual league races to less assists so Pit limiter, Pit box only. All others banned. WE ARE GOING MANUAL GEARS THIS WEEK.
A word on handicapping
Our goal with handicapping is to equalise drivers speed. We slow the fastest guys down by paying them the compliment of issueing a tier 5 car. The drivers who need a little extra car speed (for now) to mix it with the leaders are issued the tier 1 cars. If someone wins a race they will get a car at least 1 tier slower next time. If someone is down the field they will be given a faster car. In this way we are bringing everyone to the middle of the field. If you are racing competitively in the middle of the field you will most likely stay in a similar car. The only proviso is that there are only 12 cars layed out in 5 tiers. There may sometimes be times when drivers go up or down a tier simply because thats where their speed puts them relative to the driver line up on the day.
When:
Thursday nights at 8.45 on XBL for start at 9pm (21:00hrs)GMT+1 British Summer Time
Further Info:
RD rules will apply. This is envisaged as a regular but stand alone club event and points will not be counted to any series. Drivers of all standards are welcome however the same high standard of clean racing and courteous behaviour will be expected and required on track as in a championship race. Newer drivers will get the chance to compare their qualifying and race pace with League racers and learn from them in a positive environment.
Hosting and numbers: Envisaged that hosting will be done on a rotating basis by interested parties. If we get more than 11 drivers wanting to race we will put on two races each hosting ½ available drivers hopefully with a mix of experienced and newer drivers.
Please note: This is a new club event and your input is invited!
PLEASE REMEMBER TO INDICATE
name and gamertag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in this thread if you are interested plus other input you wish to give.
