Race report

Was happy with qualifying in 4th place as I think there was only 2 tenths between the top 4 so was a really close session.
My start went well, managed to hold my position and I think may of even got up to 3rd at some point. I know at that start I had some close laps with a couple of people but I can't remember exactly who it was, but it was the best start to a race from the enjoyment point of view. At about lap 5 I think I make a mistake which puts me back in 4th and this when Oli is on my tail. A couple of laps go past where we trade places all fair and clean. Think it was lap 6 or 7 when we came out of the hare-pin side by side all the way down to the left hander when I was on the inside (tbf not on racing line) and Oli was on the outside, we both brake at the same time and Oli turns into the corner slightly ahead as he had the better racing line. As I exit the corner I catch his left rear only slightly and that sends him round in a spin. I slow right down, virtually stop but before he even had a chance to see I was letting him back through, he had quit. So, yeah the incident may have been my fault, but it wasn't malicious or unfair racing as I definitely slowed right down to a near stop to let him through. Anyway,a few laps later my tires start to go and I pit in at the end of lap 11 with my options basically red. I come out I think behind Jamie but I can' remember. He must have started on the primes as I came out on a fresh set, I started to close the 6 second gap. Caught him up and a good battle with him, although it didn't last too long. From then on my race was lonely and a couple of mistakes by me ruined my chances of catching the top 3, as in the last few laps I was catching TADGER super fast. So for me I was the same as what TADGER said, thinking what could have been if I didn't make those silly mistakes. Still, glad with a 4th place, and pleased with consistently scoring good points.

Questions

1. Yeah like said in my report I made some silly mistakes where I was racing alone, which cost me time and my eventual finishing position. Although I was pleased with my pace throughout the race.

2. Qualifying went well, went out early and put in a 1.16.6xx I think. So I came in to save my tires and watched as I slipped down to 4th. But like I said before there were only 2 tenths between the top 4 so a real close and exciting session.

3. Yep glad the rain stayed away thins weekend but I never mind for a bit of rain as it changes everything for a race.

Can't wait for Hungary next weekend, one of my favourite tracks on the calendar. See you all next week..

1. Infortunally ive many issues with one person, Darren! Darren you apologise but you hit....What 5,6,7,10 times????? Unbeliveble men!? Why??? Whatch out your behavior, i was near to quit the race .....f..k! When i was with free road my times per lap always 1.17, i was very fast, and i finish in last place because you build a wall in front of me, in video all will see what happened. Daaammm men no regrets, but come on, i m very disapointed, with you driving, that looks you did on purpose, if you in the race cant go more fast let the other go.!!! Ok, you must work a lot this week with your wheel, to that dont happened again. Regards young men!!!:)
2. Like always i did a good Q, 5th place, like i expect.
3. for me is equal, rain, no rain....god decide!!!

Thanks to those that made it for the race today. Aside from CALAISZ17 (aka Jake) destroying his car in qually it was a rather uneventful Bahrain as predicted but good to test the waters. Redtaber (Bojan) dominated in Vettel-like fashion, followed by a strong performance from Livolay after a short battle with Jake.

I was a bit dismayed when I ended up 10 seconds off the qualifying pace but was still fun. While I enjoyed spinning the wheels in 4th, I think I'll try a hint of traction control next time...at least until everyone has a racing wheel.

Dylan - assuming you got booted offline half way through so happy to award you 4th place if you didn't get disqualified or something...lemme know.

DRIVER'S STANDINGS (after Round 1)
Bojan Kruljac / Redtaber 25 pts

Livolay / livolay 18 pts

Jake Schmidt / CALAISZ17 15 pts

Sam White / sam_pra 12 pts

Dylan Thomas / dylanwindmylan 10 pts
Daniel Walsh / walsh00
Ajay Rodrigues / ascar2000us
Ryan Bakken / OpusX_SRT
Marcus Lindblom / lindblom98

Hope to see more of you there next time. Still open for others to join if you wanna invite anyone. Discussion re: next Race, Melbourne shortly.

Let someone i am racing through Flavio, yeah like you see Schumacher does that don't he. NOOOO! anyway you never let back through first time YOU HIT ME! so did you expect me to be like that. Every other time except last time, was my fault yes, last time you can't say it was mu fault.

Damn, I've missed it again. Went out on my gas gas, got back in time but started strengthening the trailer and totally forgot it was Saturday and I had a race :( awe well, your jst gunna have to wait till next week to get your a55's whooped lol.

........I guess I would have to question who the real "men" are here......." You men " like to play with your " shifter " all the time.......Where as Marine and I have the team Renault pit girls for that.!!!......

Hehe...

So your telling me that both you and Jan have another person in the single seat F1 car with you during league races? I think this is something the officials will need to hear about ;)

We have no further comments on this matter, what we do in our respective cockpits before, during or after a race is nothing the press or offficials need to know about. I can only say that Mr. Ecclestone has given us a thumbs up... :D

lool let someone your racing through? thats stupid, then again the only time i let someone through was Lee in China because i was kinda new still, now i wouldnt let anyone through, and the fact your blaming Darren for coming last is abit silly, if you were soo much faster then pass him theres 2 spots on that track, and you did spin him at the hairpin on lap 2 i think it was and you continued
