In reply:I never drive with any assists on for the online races except the pit lane stuff. Its more a case of I can now create setups for my wheel instead of trying to adapt my old joystick versions.

As Andrew said I've had major PC issues today but Ive just managed a 20% race so hopefully tomorrows race will be ok... I try to stay for as long as possible. The 100% race last week went without a hitch as have most of the previous ones to. Hopefully Ive sorted the problem out and no I do not 'just get bored'.

Well, I would like to join but i'm not at all used to driving with manual gears and i think the paddles on my wheel feels a bit unprecise, it's hard to know what gear that's in.
I'm not really blaming the wheel, it's me lacking in coordination...lol... but i do feel the advantage with manual shifting, especially when braking

Hmm Sign me out Andrew, i have just saw the manual Gears... not everyone here is as advanced as you with everything manual, it's quite hard... remember the less assists you have on the less people will join... i think i'll start making rooms with assists enabled for people to have some good full grids.

Was nice race yesterday... I will post the highlights in short movie later
Yes i really enjoyed it ,i was happy i got to overtake Marine and stayed in 3rd for a few good laps.... then i pushed my car allittle to far and it spun... making Marine overtake and webz.... i carried on with a good pace and finished the race 38 or 46 seconds behind the leader.

Im happy with how it went, im suprised i finished the race considering im new to no traction control and abs.

- EDIT -

Heres one of my laps.

Nice looking lap there Scott, I notice you just managed to avoid losing the backend in the last few turns!
Im no expert, but I could see a few places you could have fed in the power a bit sooner and used more track on the exit in doing so - that is something im really trying to work on too!

Hi m8, yes i picked up on that myself, i watched the video twice... the reason i done that tho is because when i fed the power either to soon or alittle late i almost spin it, so the last few laps i was taking it rather easy... the thing is with traction control of it's better to take precaution around the corners and lose a second or two, rather then push the car so much you spin and lose 10 seconds or more... hehe.

but im still getting there, im still adjusting my settings ill put the deadzone down to 10%

You know when the backend starts coming out that tapping the brake brings it back in dont you? You dont just have to go with the spin.

I know its been mentioned, but I think 0% deadzone gives you better overall throttle control, may as well know that it starts getting loud as soon as you touch it rather than 'somewhere' further down the travel of the pedal.

Weird isnt it how folks differ - I mean losing auto gears was the first thing I did, long before turning off ABS and TC. Im not saying you're wrong so please dont think im being critical - its just I think manual gears help you when you dont have ABS or TC - so mastering gears first makes handelling the car so much easier when you switch off the ABS and TC.

I think you will have to learn how to handle the car all over again when you do switch to manual and that will be more difficult.
