F1 2019 F1 2019: F2 Won't Feature Full Career Mode

F1 2019 The Game (Codemasters)

Codemasters Lee Mather confirms the career mode of the upcoming F1 2019 won't support a full season of Formula Two.

Although players of the new game will get the opportunity to complete a full campaign in the feeder series via Championship mode, it looks like you won't be able to race completely in the Formula Two category before stepping up to the main series as part of a progression within the career mode aspect of the title.

According to a tweet by Mather, the F2 portion of the career mode will consist of "3 events, with a narrative" - which if I'm honest feels like something of a missed opportunity from Codemasters.

Quite how this all plays out in F1 2019 is yet to be formally revealed, and it is worth noting that a full season can still be enjoyed in the standalone championship mode within the title, so players looking forward to having some fun in the lower rungs of single seater racing don't need to enter full panic mode just yet!

Interestingly, Mather also mentions something about retirements and drivers moving within the game world - although frankly I'm not quite sure exactly what that means or how it will be represented within the game come release day next month.

More information to follow as and when it becomes available.

F1 2019 is due to release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC June 2019.

I'm far from a programmer, but it cant be that hard to create a F2 championship, you got the cars and tracks, only think missing is programs that say somethign like: create championship with these (f2) cars at these (f2 only) venues.

Eh from a Programming guy, it's harder than just that. Yes they have the base which makes it easier, but there is still precious time and effort needed to be put in to convert it over to Career Mode.

This is not a comment defending Codemaster's by the way, I do feel they could have done a full season with the extra year they said they put into this game... but hey, I am happy to get this in a yearly release title. Better than EA and their sports games (Besides F1 2006 Championship Edition that **** was great)

Typical Codemasters:
Has the cars + has the tracks... doesn't put 2 and 2 together.

On the bright side we know F1 2020 brand new headlining feature, FULL F2 INTEGRATION.

Like I told the other guy. It's harder than "I have the Cars, I have the Tracks... Lets make F2". The coding of it is the hardest part, the design of the Tracks and Cars is the easy part. I understand why you think that, but it's not as easy as many think. Coding is the true time killer, Modeling is not.

It might not be a good sim, but it is a fun simcade. I have enjoyed every single iteration so far and going through several classes was something I was really hoping for.

The older I get, the more I say "Vote with you purchase, or lack there of". That way, eventually, the problem will be solved. I've invoked my right SO many times with the recent DLC-to-death crap. I just don't give them my money.
Just sayin. You might miss a game launch or two, but you can get it months later at %10 the cost anyway.
Vote with that purchase (or lack of). Don't support something, they get the message quick. Support things you don't like or agree with, they still take your money with less of what you want.

Well at the very least it has highlighted who on the forum works for Codemasters.

Such a strange remark Vic. I guess I am the head recipient of that remark, having posted several posts not understanding how the heck free additional content can be bullshit and total bummer. I simply don´t get it. And this I want to say here, as a counterweight to all the bullshit and bummer remarks. And you know what Vic? One CAN do that, without being on Codemasters payroll. One CAN simply be a happy customer, regardless of what you Codies-haters think.

And hey... I wish I DID work for Codemasters. They sell quite a few games, and I would not mind working for a company selling many and great games, but unfortunately I do not.

I DO however LIKE Codemasters and their games. I have since Colin McRae Rally, the original one came out. And I accept that other people like other game developers a lot more - all good - but I resent that nomatter what Codemasters offers - absolutely NO MATTER what, people just cry bullshit. It makes no sense at all.

Don’t be so sensitive Ole. My comment was said in fun.

Well guess I AM a bit sensitive on this matter Vic.
I have been experienced these Codemasters hating threads for SO many years, even back on BH Motorsports when that was the site to be reckoned with.
My original post in this thread has about 28.000 dislikes :roflmao::roflmao: So I guess my sense of humor in this matter is at an all time low.
But thanks for clearifying your intent Vic :)

Wait, wasnt the last game "F1 2019"?! Could have sworn it was 2019... Also could have sworn on that the game came out not long ago... Is life really moving this fast? I better start having more boring slow days...
