Yeah, I changed to Medium Aggression and it´s okey now ... would really like that the AI would be more aggressive and just take out the engine failures because atm they are way to many :p

Really? what is your average mech failure? Next week i have holidays and a lot of time to improve!
But for now, i have to studty :(

Hm...

Aero coefficient downforce, aero coefficient lift, rear/front height, drag, force, air density, air resistance, inertia, anti roll, ballast, differential, damping, fast bump, fast rebound, slow rebound, these things reminds me of real life, and when they are present in a simulated environment i think its called realism. FYI they are all present on F1 2012, and this isn't even 30% of the settings of the car. Obviously with whatever mods we use we still are not going to have a realistic handling like Game Stock Car, but with some tweaks this game can be awesome.
And that is just about handling, there is some more aspects of realism included. But if you don't like it, its your right to it.
I hope you are enjoying GT5 and Forza 4, good luck planning your race strategy

All those settings don't mean squat. Granturismo 2 for playstation 1 had many settings, doesn't mean it's a sim lol. Many crappy console f1 games in the past 10 years have had a good amount of setup options, and they weren't even close to sims.

Saying a game is a sim just because it has lots of setup options makes you sound like you are 12 years old, or that you just dont understand what a real sim is like.

Its all to do with the underlying physics engine modelling (including tyre model), not how many setup options you have in the garage, any game nowadays can have enough depth to it's physics to allow a good amount of setup changes in the garage. I mean just look at shift/shift 2 lol.

I think GT5 and Forza 4 are crap as well, I was just throwing those 2 out because they are the 2 best sim like titles for ppl that don't wanna play the real sims on PC.

I play Game Stock Car 2012, RFactor 2, some very good RFactor 1 mods, and Netkar Pro. Those are sims.

Yeah man, study away! :D ...
My average mech failure was around 10 cars, I never saw more then 14 cars finish a race with High Aggression on ... now I have Medium and it´s just like in real life, 3-5 cars have mech failures or crashes :)

I believe you don't get what i mean.
All these settings are inside the car files, they don't appear on the game, and what i mean is that the game uses this settings, so, if they get the right values, this can be a good sim.
Is not the setup options, i mean that the game takes all this into account, things like you only see on sims. The handling/physics on CM's F1 doesn't feel so realistic because they didn't wanted to, because with all this calculations, its a matter of getting the right numbers.
The only one you play that i don't is Netkar Pro, so based on the others, particularly on the awesome GSC, i know how a good sim is like. My point is that there is a system capable of being a good sim inside F1 2012, its not because you have or don't have this settings, its because the game engine calculates this settings to get the things right. Doesn't have a good sim handling because of the values CM used in these settings. Just change the ARB inside a CTF value and see the difference of the handling in the game, the game handles it well, only thing that makes it feels weird is the default values used by CM, not the actual setup you see on the game, but the settings you can change in the file, not in the game.
Cannot say for sure about the tyre model, while it looks good, at the same time doesn't feel anything because of the bad FFB of CM, you can't really feel a good grip difference in the wheel due to the bad FFB CM made, but anyway, the handling can be much more realistic using the same engine, just need some tweaks on the game files. It will not be so close to rFactor1, 2 or GSC, but will be more realistic. :)

Thomas you can just play and
Do you have to create another profile for this work? or can you just install and play? Otherwise it looks great :)
You can just install and play!

Vanzha yes ;)

Can anyone tell me which track has the most DNF's in qualifying?

Patched the DNF's in qualifying! it only occured in high aggression mod right?

And are there to much mechanical failures during the race?

I have only used the high aggression version, so all I can tell you as that the DNF's in qualifying were definitely a problem in that version. I'm not sure about the other two. Since installing the high aggression version, I have only completed one race, which was at Interlagos. Only seven cars, including mine, finished the race. The vast majority of the cars were taken out in three separate incidents requiring safety cars, which all occurred in the first 20 laps of the race. Therefore, I'm not sure how many mechanical failures there were during the race.

Why are you even posting this crap? Hardly anyone ares about your 1990's-like-graphics sims.

GTFO and dont let the door hit you on the way out!

F1 2012 Realism mod

The F1 2012 Realism mod is made for people who like to play offline modus but do like realism, what is an f1 game without realism?

There will be 3 different AI aggression levels you can play with, if "high" doesnt work for you try a lower one like "med" or low". It also contains 4 different distances you can play

This mod (v2.2) contains the following:

Realistic AI behaviour:
  • AI will overtake more
  • AI will not back out when they are on the inside at a corner
  • AI rarely (but they do) brake late and crash into other drivers
  • AI will not wait until all cars get passed when they are off the track, but will try to merge into the field
Realistic AI strength:

  • AI drivers pace is up to date according to the 2012 season
  • AI is more aggressive
Mechanical Failures and DNF's

  • AI will have more mechanical failures than CM last released patch
  • Mechanical failures happen according to 2012 season, That means HRT will have more mechanical failure than Ferrari
  • Each race will have between 1-5 cars that will retire due mechanical failures
Race Distance

  • There are 4 distances available: 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%
  • If you want to play 25% races with tyre scaling, install the 50% mod and select 25% races ingame
  • If you want to play 75% races with tyre scaling, install the 75% mod and select 100% races ingame
  • You cannot play other distances than installed (except for 25%)
Tyres

  • This mod includes tyre scaling on 50% and 75% races and improved tyre scaling on 100%
  • This is the first mod with tyre scaling that affects the tyre wear!
  • Fixed tyre selection on Brazil and Texas
  • Tyre wear does not work in career. If you want to play this mod for career, install the 100% mod
Flashbacks

  • 50 Flashbacks
-I recommend not to use any flashbacks, since its known cars will crash when they are in mid-corner

-My database supports the Safety Car mod
great mod!!

but, please,,,, could you make a mod with only Realistic IA behaviour & strengh???

I mean...
with: Realistic AI behaviour & Realistic AI strength (safety car mod is ok too);
and without (NO mod): Mechanical Failures and DNF's, Race Distance & tyre scaling.

thanks!!
(sorry my english)

Sorry to keep asking questions but:
1. If you want to do a 25% distance race, you have to install the 50% mod.
2. But if you want to do a 100% race, do you have to exit, install the 100% mod, and then start the game?
