It's really weird, It should work with a little effort, here a check list :
  • Does the needle moves even a little ?
  • Cylinders : did you configure on the tach the numbers of cylinders ? It's critical
  • Which arduino model do you use ?
  • Could you try with another arduino, if you swapped the transistor and diode,it's not impossible that you fried the arduino by applying 12v to the pin. Try maybe another pin if you don't have another arduino.
  • Power supply : what 12v power supply do you use ? At least a proper 500mA is required .
  • Gnd : did you forgot to connect gnd to power supply and arduino gnd (no gnd no signal ;) )
  • Defective tach ... sh*t happens .. :(
Thanks for your reply
The needle never moved the slightest, this is the second board ive tried using, the first was a 2560 mega and the current is a UNO. Can confirm that i have the ground connected from the 12v 1000ma trans to the arduino ground. As for the amount of cylinders i've tried 1 2 3 and 4 with no success , i have 9 RGB leds connected and they have worked fine even tried without them connected. I'm down to the point where i could be looking at getting a third arduino but then again its probably just the shitty $15 ebay tacho from china haha.

Other than that what would be the usual amount of cylinders , i see default is 4 is this the most common in most tacho's?

Thanks for all your help m8 , i know this should be an easy task , just has'nt worked out that way for me lol. Would there be a type of tachometer that you would recommend? something around the $40/$50 mark would suit my budget :)

Ouch,
A last additionnal test is to put the randomly the tach signal wire to the 12v to generate a signal (kind of) without arduino to see if the tach is deffective .
Does the needle moves when you plug it to 12v ? It often do a full swipe in order to calibrate the needle position.

I used this one I bought, with some other peoples, it's not the fastest tach available but it works :D https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3-7...32664800061.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.vOxHGs

Hello, how to enter an image in SimHubNextionEdito? THANK YOU

Look at the picture

Choose "Picture" at lower left and then the "+"

I've noticed that since two versions back, SimHub doesn't start with windows. I checked and it's configured in SimHub and in the system both.
Maybe I should try to uninstall/install?

Hello
I try to create the ncalc script to have the different flags on my rgb leds in AC but without success...
Someone can help me to create this NCal script?

Simply set the value script to the flag you want , i would also suggest to put it in the "enabled" script, so you can stack multiple mappings on the same led for each flag :

The value goes from 0 (no flag) to 1 (flag)

With the adequate binding :

If you want it to always blink when on simply set "1" in the blinking formula to make the blinking effect permanent.

Hi Wotever
Is it possible to run Simhub and ShakeIt on one ardunio at the same time or will be the com port locked by SimHub or ShakeIt?
For now it's not possible, I'm planning one day to include the shakeit features into simhub (but I've been saying that for months and I don't know if I will really get time to do it one day :( )

I didn't know i could test the tachometer that way, will try that when i have some time although im pretty sure its just a crappy tachometer, i only got it cause it does 13k and i mod some cars on assetto that do pretty close to that. Also thanks for the recommendation on a suitable tachometer.

Cheers
Stephen

Great App! Works well with my Arduino Nano & TM1638 on Asetto Corsa & ETS2 but please do add an option to hide games that aren't on our library. I still have to try it on DiRt Rally & Race07 after completing my Arduino. Thanks!

Wotever updated SimHub, DIY Sim racing Dash with a new update entry:

5.3.2 Beta

Hi !

What's new in 5.3.2 Beta :
  • Improved web sync, if somehow the display device get's late SimHub will wait to get it back in sync
  • CPU Performance improvements of DashStudio desktop (up to 30% depending of the dash)
  • Introducing the dash web engine directly accessible from simhub, Dashstudio web has proven it is a good, performance wise, alternative to the legacy renderer, so it's now possible to use it directly from simhub
  • Reworked the control bars to be more compact...
