AC CLASSIC Fat-Alfie Championship, Round 1 of 6 - Thompson Road, Tue 17th October 2023

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Did any1 change tyres on there pitstop??
Not me but the Escort was getting a bit slippery in the closing laps.
Had a great battle with Richard for most of the race and despite a big wobble from me in the last sector of the final lap, I managed to hang on for a P4 finish.
Great fun, well done podiums and thanks Colin for the prospect of more battles on these great tracks.

Was there an advantage ! I was in the pits for 2 seconds, tyres and fuel would have been at least 20 seconds. Decided that was not acceptable, I could have gone maybe 0.5 seconds quicker a lap but as I was stuck in traffic behind RS1600 for most of the race. !! So I assumed everybody did what I did.
One litre, shocked that Jason changed tyres, I assumed it was placebo due to
his new found pace!!!!

PS I got hit when I had some great luck and was running near the front in the first lap corner, with everyone in front faster. So I could have taken advantage of that. Unfortunately my race was lost in the first corner.

Mika, that's a real shame for you and sorry our great battle ended like that.

Watching the replay I also couldn't see any contact. Basically I think my off was just the result of me being off line over the jump, sorry.

Also great battles with Paul and Allan, basically it couldn't have been closer guys!
Well, these things happen. It was just bad luck, because it felt to me like a light bump and I was too busy handling the exit from the jump to take note whether there really was contact or not. Not knowing whether we touched, I simply had no other choice than to wait for you.
You did nothing wrong, so no need to apologize to me.
And normally (read: against Alfas) I wouldn't have tried overtaking through the jump, but with the same car the overtake takes so long that it's hard to avoid doing that if you ever want to get past.

looking at the lap times for the escort it seems i was in the pits about 8 secs longer than those who didn't take tyres, Allan i can see your lap after the pit was way off pace as well, the pit should not effect your next lap other than the new tyres taking some time to come good.

That 8 seconds sounds about right, the tyre change takes 10 seconds.

I wasn't as lucky though, I lost a lot more when I had to wait for the traffic when leaving the pits. I think that pit exit lost me everything I gained with fresh tyres...
Definitely wasn't my day
