Caterham Superlight Team Challenge - Complaints thread

Loved that race, race 1 was very clean for me, race 2 I thought was a little bit too agressive but all in all awesome racing, can't wait for the next round

Too aggressive with like people giving other people a little nudge on to the grass just before T1 when they were alongside someone?,yea gets on my tits too that kind of malarky......

That was a genuine mistake and I let you back through. As for ramming on the straight Gary, well...

Personal opinions are as follows - don't get a BSOD in race 2. Don't get a broken 5th gear in race 1 just on the startline. Don't forget where the braking point in turn 4 is (SORRY EVERYONE). Don't try to bump draft certain racers because they will flash and honk and then brake test you.

On a positive note, the racing otherwise was brilliant - 6 wide into T1 on lap 3 of race 1. EPIC. Cheers guys. Also congrats THR! :D

Gary,
with respect, i'd moved over to the inside while i was being lapped by the leaders and i'd backed off to make sure i wasn't in their midst into turn 1, but i suspect chris, in the time available from popping out of the pack and popping into my boot had nil time to assess that i was not at full speed. While i acknowledge that Chris ran into me, i take the blame for the ferocity of the incident - Chris was not, in my opinion, to blame for the clash

Respect your opinion on that one then Paul,i was just confused with the comment "As for ramming on the straight Gary,well....",i really dont remember ramming anyone on the straight across the two races thats all m8.

Gary, if you feel (as it would appear) that there are incidents to discuss, please address them with your team leader so the review system can work its hoodoo and we can improve the league as a whole.

cheers :)

race 1 hitting by dont know who yet.
coming back with Daruisz darling on the top2 by 1 sec/lap faster but still no time enough...
race2: agressif one with toby but i know him.... wathever if you are inside or not, i take my racing line, look how it finish...
coming back again on top3 with Dariusz darling who waiting to me but there i have a big question Connor Caple: how can you spin there?????? oO hitting me and completly out of track... try to find a "entry" to rejoin the track but loose a lot of time, finally found a bump to jump over the barrier... :/
some fun but with some disapointment...
wathever... im more here for the fun than for the win, i take this league a bit like a racing club event... but will still "fight" for the name of our team :D

cu on next track for more fun that disapointment... ;)

Q session was not clear guys... i need to say that i was a bit "angry"...
in "unofficial" practice i ask if the 5laps allowed was with the "in" and "out" laps... answer was yes...
we go in official Q session: try to make a "strategy" for the quali on 5 laps, 5 laps done go to pit and smoke spliff and drink beer BUT 3min before the end, we see that we was alowed to drive the 15min... thats very bad cause if i can stay same only 1 laps more on track after already 3 "hotlaps" your car is very better...
hope that will be clear for the next one ;)

but need to say big thx to wayne, paul and RD for already all the work!!! ;)

Greg, i can only apologise for that - i'd read the original meeting info thread where the info was but obviously there had been a change in format since that was written so i misinformed you in error - i asked again at the start of the session to make sure solely because i wasn't sure from the post whether it was 5 laps total or 5 flying laps......ended up it was neither but it was there in the chat at the start of the session.

Apologies again, i'll hopefully see you over the weekend

It's an art form - I work hard on my spins, to get just the right amount of loss of traction in supposedly easy corners :)

I do recall the corner you meant, I think, the fast left-hander in the second race? I saw the blue flag as two of you came up behind me just as I was going into the corner, so I tried to ease off to stay on the outside (leaving the racing line for you both) when it lost traction and turned left all on its own. :o

I usually drive Front Wheel Drive cars *coughs* which don't react as badly to lifting in a corner. I'm hoping to get better with these cats as time goes on - but I wasn't LAST! *does 'the dance'* :D

Loved it guys - thanks for the races.

I actually got faster in the second race, set a new best time for me round that track in a Cat and beat my quali time. That was one of my high points of the night *grins* (The others were "Finishing both races" and "not being last") :)

I did my best to stay out of the way of the fast guys when they were lapping me towards the end of both races.

I saw someone mention braking points *chuckles* I was only braking on ONE corner as I found the Cat so twitchy in Monday's test session - I'll push it harder for the next race. Fun little beastie to drive and, if I'd managed without the complete reverse spin later in Race 1, I could have stolen a few extra points just by tiptoeing past all the crashers :D

Race2: 21:35 UK - 30 min

Don't take this in a 'bad way', Gregory, but I saw you both a long way back and had been watching you get closer for about two laps, but until I get a blue flag, I'm not lifting for anybody *chuckles* It was just an error I made in that corner, and one I understand now so hopefully it will not cost me another spin.

I let many other people through very successfully at many other straights and corners - ask the leaders, they passed me in both races :)

I may not be as fast as the rest of you, but I'm not out for a 'Sunday drive in the country' either :D
