Australia & New Zealand

I have GTR2, GTL, rFactor and of course Race07 with GTR Evo

Rhys Gardiner.
Perth, Western Australia.
Lives in Midvale, an eastern suburb of Perth, with my parents, little brother, Grandfather, cat and many, many birds...

Have no job as of yet, as I am only 14.
Was first introduced to motor racing through the Gran Turismo Games in 2006. Ah, memories... From then, in late 2007 I stumbled across the articles for GTR2 and rFactor on Wikipedia, found out about Simbin and Race 07, bought Race 07 (and after days of computer crashes and frustration, a new graphics card), got into Online racing, joined NoGrip and RaceDepartment, and got GTR Evo. All in the space of 9 months! :D

On the public servers, I am usually a frontrunner, and have won a few races. The tracks I am best at are the Nurburgring Nordschleife and Zandvoort. Since joining RD however, I have been blown away by the talent of the guys in the Oceania Zone. Not a bad thing, I can assure you! :thumb: I am midfield material on RD servers, but am very confident of my ability as a driver, and have set one goal: to step on the podium.

Wheel is a Logitech Driving Force EX (hey... don't blame me, it was all I could afford at the time! :p) and my family's keyboard and mouse are also Logitech.

RD Nations Cup League

I guess we have decided that Australia and New Zealand won't be represented in this League. Time is running out for entries and we haven't shown any interest. Pity, we have some quick drivers among us here, and the guys have already created an Aussie and a Kiwi skin for the FBMW.

They are prepared to allow a combined Aus / NZ Team with the skin being whichever country the driver is from for each event.

Details are here:

and

in case anyone was unaware of this League.

Howdy fellow Aussies

Hi All Just wanted to jump in and say hi to all my fellow Aussie racers, I'm ashamed to say I hadn't found this part of the forum until Warren put me onto it, so cheers Warren :) Hope to see you on the track soon! Neil

Well that's a bit of a blow...

Warren, I would have loved to drive in this league, but the times just don't add up for me. I skimmed over the rulebook for RDNGP and noticed the start times were 19:00 for the events. I assume this is GMT, and this particular time converts to 3am Saturday in Perth. I'm sorry to say this, but to be honest my sleep patterns have to take precedence over my hobby, especially so as I am at a stage in my life when I need to wake up at the right time, even on weekends. It pains me to say that I cannot race in the small hours of the morning, even for my country.

On the other hand, there might just be another season of RDNGP in late 2009/early 2010. If this is the case, in the space of roughly a year, the RD moderators could try and promote the event more heavily in the Oceania community. Maybe through that, RD could get more Aussies/Kiwis interested. I know I would be! If it weren't for that dastardly thing they call School, I would be up for the challenge anytime.

Just some thoughts that crossed my mind when I read your post. I may not be able to compete in this league, but the idea is the best I've heard in a while, and I will be following its progress every step of the way. :thumb:

I hope things go well for RDNGP, and hopefully for Oceania next season if this event isn't a one-off.

Rhys

Grats to Michaels Stead and Hermann, and most of all to The Krusher himself! Well done to all of you, it is a privilege to compete against you and to have seen the championship unfold right in front of me! :thumb:

Congratulations again, Krusher!
