I don't think this was posted before, from Marco in the facebook comments from saturday:

Marco Massarutto said:
"Dear followers, we are doing all our efforts to give you what you are asking for. Our main interest is to release a tech preview demo able to satisfy your expectations, as you can understand for sure. This requires time, attention and patience. We are dedicating all our time and activities on this project: anyway, don't forget that Kunos Simulazioni is a little and indipendent company with limited funds and resources. If you wish to support us, we ask you to be patient."

What do insects and contraceptives have do to with AC???

It blows me away that people would take the skype invitation (one of if not the most awesome things I have ever seen a developer do) and use it to ask to be a beta tester.....I know next to nothing about programming and even I know that a beta tester isn't about playing the game early, its tedious button mashing trying to break the game and I'm sure carefully documenting everything that you do.

I'm really curious as to the Stafano tweet whether he means the TP will be out before Feb 20 or if he was referring to being positive that the pope would be retired by Feb 20......These guys are so cryptic; is that just an Italian thing or what? :D

I'm sure that they want to give us the Tech Demo asap mate, but with software development (I am one so I know what it means), its tough to give a release date as things always crop up to be fixed and updated. AC is a complex project, and such projects are hard to predict when complete.

So they are quiet because they are working on it full on, but cannot commit to a date yet since they don't feel 100% and confident yet that everything is working as they wish.

Well, that's what I think at least from experience. They told us to wait and be patient, and we will :)

Positive that KS tries to prevent a disaster release, like that of netKar Pro in 2006. Those who where there know what I mean.

But what concerns me is that KS needs an awfull long time for just a tech demo. They need almost 4 months more to release a techdemo with one car and one track.

What will happen when the public plays the demo and reports the issues/bugs, how much time do KS need then to fix the FULL version of AC?

Honestly, release date for AC in Q1 seems very optimistic now. I would guess on Q3 or maybe even Q4 at this moment.

Agreed, and we all know what some people's idea of beta testing is...
Getting the game early basically, not to help with development and report bugs.

Yep I think kunos are eager to not have things happen the same way as nkp.

In the end NKP was and still is in manny ways the best simulator to be released especaily when it comes to raw driving car feel and racing on the limmit. Its just likely that some of the launch issues with nkp and the netcode (which were all fixed in the end) greatly impacted sales.

So it makes sense for them to want to make a golden first impression with AC

Mind you FVA and later builds of NKP were awsome.
