english version with the help of microsofttranslator (not good but better than my italian):
http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?from=&to=en&a=http://www.drivingitalia.net/index.html

There are lots of interesting news in there but it would be awesome if someone who speaks italian can sum up the most important stuff, release, tech demo, night driving stuff like that ;)

Just my take from the translator version (notice the question marks ;)):
- AC probably won't be released this year?
- but not because they are running behind schedule, simply to add more content/features? (big things anyone ;))
- techdemo in December ?

Oh and the Zonda video :geek:

The administrator of DrivingItalia Nicola Trivilino paid the developers of Kunos Simulazioni a visit this weekend during the 6 Hours of Vallelunga. The Rome based circuit is also the home of the development team working on the PC simulator Assetto Corsa.
Nicola tried out various cars and made screen videos of the Pagani Zonda R and Formula Abarth racing around two famous Italian racing venues: Imola and Monza, which are both laserscanned and therefore guarantee an absolute precision in reproducing all the characteristics, like bumps, banking and track surface.

Click here for the two videos and tell us what you think of it.

I must admit, when the formula abarth video dropped earlier this morning, I was a little disappointed. All this hype i've been building up in my head and it kind of felt stale to me and didnt really seem any different than anything else I drive. Without having driven it though, I have reserved my judgements in public forums. But after seeing that zonda video, dayum dayum daaayyuuum. Really seems to capture realism and immersion, which is what i've found lacking in a lot of what i race now and have in the past. Thank you for putting out this second video nicola, awesome awesome stuff :)

Gotta love the Zonda R.

The replay in particular looked so good...

Some times it's quite difficult to tell if it's real or not. :roflmao:

Goodmorning all,:coffee:
Im at work so i cant see the Lotus video (utube is forbiden etc)

Nathan Robinson
I felt kinda the same with the Abarth video but then i thought hmm..its better not to see something aewsome i mean in physics,as u said theres not something to see but to drive it and then see how it feels/drives etc.(at least from an cockpit camera).
To tell u the truth, when i saw that AC will have a lot better physics from netkar pro i got very excited but on the other hand i got a bit afraid cause already netkar has very much realistic physics and couldnt imagine how much better will get and how much better the cars will handle and in ffb(i remember Aristotelis saying that with the ferrari 458 in FVA and of course in netkar also they had to compromise cause of reaching "limits" on the code).

But still im w8ing like crazy to get my hands on those physics :inlove:

PS: btw i didnt see the big movements of camera like on an other video with a formula lotus in Nurbugring and i liked it better that way

From Luca Sodano's twitter(Asseto Corsa sound designer):

"Working on Zonda R and overall audio balancing. Guys, don't worry, external sounds in the video are still placeholders. ;)"

That's great to hear - I hope you are able to implement truly impressive downshifts, backfires, misfires, and environmental reflection in replays. These are what is most overlooked in almost all racing sims IMO.

I just finished reading it even though i read it too fast cause i couldnt consentrate cause of my excitment :x3:
Even though the release seems to come in March im in love with these:

"but tyre management is a clear skill required in AC to consistently get good times. However, I might add, good tyre management is not the difference between good laptimes, and being in the wall. An overheating tyre is not going to result in wild drop off in grip, just a mild reduction which you notice as you have to wind in more steering lock, or brake a little deeper to scrub off more speed on turn-in. No sudden switch to “ice.” "

"It is expected that by release variable track temperature will be modelled, possibly even down to differing times of day and shadows, and there are plans for a dynamic “rubbering up” of the track to take place, though that is currently a feature somewhat in its infancy."

:inlove:

And of course i forgot(sry),
thanks u Jon for this nice interview, much info for us

Edit2: haha im so blind :geek: i just saw that James already posted it :roflmao:

That latest review is absolutely great. I enjoyed reading every bit of it. And from what I have experienced at the GamesCom I can imagine a little bit the fun and excitement that the Lotus49 would give us.

A big "Thank You!" Jon Denton for that great review!
