AMS Time Trial of the Week

Post times, share setups and tips, fill up some leaderboards!

The Time Trial feature on AMS allows users to post times at any tracks and compare it to other drivers around the world. The setups thread for AMS is quite bare, and hopefully if this takes off we can start posting the winning setups there to improve the game for all users.

How does this work?
Choose the selected car of the week in the Main Menu. Click on Time Trial and load up the track of the week. Once in, feel free to play around with the setups as much as you like and post some laptimes. The scoreboard in game will automatically update. When you are done, post here your laptime, and either share your setup and tips, or ask for help.

To start off, we will only use Reiza default cars and tracks, but we may move into mods in the future.

I thought that would be nice so I made a page for it - https://woli.github.io/ams/.

You might need to disable the page protection on your browser (see attached file). At least with firefox I get "Blocked loading mixed active content" errors. That's because the page is hosted with https but makes requests to a http url.

Not working for me on Firefox or Chromium, just says "No data available in table."

It should work on Firefox when you disable the page protection (see screenshot of my previous post).

Anyway, it will work without those issues if you run it locally. Just download this file (https://github.com/woli/ams/archive/gh-pages.zip) and open index.html

I don't get that error message at all but maybe one of several security related extensions I have installed is blocking it. The local version works though without any error message which is odd. Thanks for putting this together.

Some combos there I didn't realise were popular so some new stuff to try out.

I was so far from pace during the first 20 or 30 laps that I was about to give up this combo. I don't know if I got it going or managed to tweak the car just right, but I'm happy with my time now.

I haven't really been able to do any sim driving for a while, and I just got a chance to try the new updates, and AMS is awesome! There are some new smaller details from five or six months ago, and boy are the formula trainers fantastic! I really like them. I tried out some of the time trials for those on the new brands hatch, and it is quite fun. I do have to say am also impressed with @fortyfivekev as you have some very fast times! @Heitor Facuri Cicoti as well!

I enjoy Brands a lot. I used to live quite near the track so spent a lot of weekends there in the 80's and 90's. I think if @Tim O'Glock did some FTrainer laps though he would put us in our place.

I think you may be right, but for now I'm coming for you and Heitor! I am going to try Indy with the advance trainer right now and see if I can get a little closer.

It's close: Kevin - 47.69, Heitor- 47.70, and myself (rksskier2) 47.71

I don't think it can get any closer than that!

Edit: I was able to just barely get you guys, 47.65

47.3 for @Tim O'Glock now so we look slow again. It's hard to find those tenths in a 47 second lap.

I would like to take part in this. How do i know what combo is on? The first page needs an update I guess...

It's only a matter of time until TimO beats my laptime, so here it goes my setup and replay (rename it as .vcr to make it playable). I know I can be .05 s faster on the first corner and the third corner wasn't a great one. So there's still some time to find there. The difficult part is doing all on the same lap.

The last "organised" combo was F309 on Montreal Historic, maybe one page before this. Now we are having fun on a spontaneous combo, Formula Trainer Advanced at Brands Hatch Indy.

You know why there is a question mark next to my user name? It is because I don't understand how you are so fast!! Even when you are tied, apparently you still come out number 1! Great times both of you, and Ferdinand you are impressively fast on all combos.

I noticed before that if two drivers have the same time then the driver who got the time second is shown on top which is not the way it works in proper racing. Maybe @Dave Stephenson can fix that some time. If drivers have the same time then the driver who got it first should be on top.

That's the biggest injustice in the whole human history!!

Haha... I think he was faster in the .000X s, because even if it's not shown, it is considered, as you can see that the split times do not add to 47.292 s.
