The public Early Access build of Automobilista has received its first update - version 0.8.0.1 is now available to download.

Heading out of the blocks in fine style with their initial Early Access offering of the much anticipated Automobilista 2 racing simulation, Reiza Studios have been quick off the mark getting out the first public hotfix update, deploying build 0.8.0.1 just three days after the EA release dropped.

The new build brings the public version of the simulation to just below the latest build deployed for beta members, and with it comes an nice selection of improvements across many aspects of the title.

Headline changes within the new build are arguably the changes to FFB on some cars, as well as various AI updates (although this is still very much a work in progress).

Hotfix 0.8.0.1 Notes:

GENERAL

  • Adjusted rain spray parameters - slightly longer draw distance & slower decay
  • Raised default Camera World Movement from 50 to 75, reduced G Force Effect from 50 to 25 (resulting in less default cockpit camera movement)
UI
  • Added game version number to main menu screen
  • Desaturated Championship & Time Trial panels in Main Menu to better illustrate current unavailability
  • Adjusted order and included Start button in Test Day / Custom Event menu (allows pressing start button with cursor+ accept button as well as gamepad start button)
  • Added missing track background screens & trackmaps for Snetterton
  • Corrected F-V10 livery thumbnails
PHYSICS & AI
  • Slightly adjusted tyre tread physics for F-Classic Gens 2&3, SuperV8, MIT Lancer, F-Vee, Opala, Ultima GTR, Copa Truck, Caterhams, karts
  • Slightly reduced pneumatic trail for slick tyres & adjusted max steering rack forces to suit (results in slightly more consistent FFB)
  • Fixed error in suspension rates of SuperV8, Sprint Race which could lead to excessive bouncing midcorner and other handling woes
  • Adjusted differential locks for all Caterham models with LSD
  • Adjusted brake response curve & reduced default brake pressure to 90% for all cars
  • Fixed error in Ultima GTR Race rear brakes which would cause it to lock rear wheels easily
  • Reduced brake torque for Superkart
  • Fixed missing rear pre-warmed tyres for F3, Roco 001
  • Adjusted AI dry tyres for Caterhams, Touring Car Classics, Ultima GTR, ARC Camaro, F-Vintage, F-Trainer for more consistent performance vs player
  • Adjusted AI wet tyres for StockV8, Sprint Race, Superv8, Caterham, F-Classic, Touring Car Classics, F-Trainer for more consistent performance vs player
  • Fixed Chevette 5th gear ratio
VEHICLES
  • Mitsubishi Lancer: Fixed windscreen textures issue
  • Ultima GTR: Fixed shifting animation (manual instead of paddles); Added chrome stripes to some liveries; Fixed wheels and exhaust vertex AO; Added backfire animations
  • Caterham 620R: Updated several liveries (adding some metallic variations)
  • Formula Vintage: Added missing lower LOD models (which could cause cars to disappear in lower car detail settings)
TRACKS
  • Jerez: Complementary art pass & fixes
  • Snetterton: Fixed curbs & added 3D marbles to both layouts

To users still struglling with brake sensitivity, please make sure to callibrate your controller to try ensure the full range is being correctly used.

What is it that I do not like to drive?
I meant the general term, you've posted. It sounded, like you are applying your own preferences but advising other people to have to think the same, by saying, that people drive, what they like the most. If that makes sence.

I for my part favourize AMS1 over all other sims, but still drive most of them equally. AMS1 is also my favourite online sim, surprisingly. I don't drive that much online, as i probably could, but always had a blast in this game.

OT:
Even F1 2019 is on this list of sims (man THIS GAME IS FANTASTIC, even physics and FFB are less weird, than some would think, when everything is dialed in properly. Experiencing a season with changing weather, strategy and team progression is more simulation, many people are granting custody of F1 2019.) "Code"masters just could do a bit more work with track accuracy and bugfixing.

it just feels "home".

Exactly, I hope we (SIM enthusiast ) all have a SIM we can call home and get that feeling when it just feels like home. Amen brother. :)

In fact, in an ideal world, the best move for Reiza would have been to license AC engine, hire Ilja and Peter and continue developing it.

That would have been something else! I would have liked that as well. :)

Well after a bit of a strange start , this sim is really turning into some thing special , played on it tonight after the patch and the driving experience is certainly getting better, took a v12 out round Monaco great feeling of speed and the feel of the track in the car is superb , still a little work needed on the physics of the car The Ai still needs work and a few other things that i am sure Reiza are well aware of, and i am not sure about when you hit the side of the track railings that slow down of the car doesn't feel right , the graphics are really nice and the game plays so smooth , just hoping they continue improving what i feel could become my no 1 sim in months to come. ill do some more testing over the next few days and report back on my findings.

The Caterhams feel way better, AI is a bit crazy, braking feel didn't change, because i had no problems in the first place. o.O
Thanks. I agree with you.

I have followed it all the way for a month. I felt that my feeling went backwards with the EA. I have used an OSW with gain 50 LFB 0 FX 0 the whole time. Then I realised that I needed some LFB.

I'm now using gain 30 LFB 50 FX 50. It feels the best now. So I wasn't sure if it was my FFB settings or the game has improved.

What do you mean? Is it fixed or is there a way for me to fix it in the car setup?
There’s something just sort of broken with the symmetry of the car’s setup. For example, here’s what I observed I went into advanced setup from the defaults keeping the usual 'symmetric setup' intact:
  • changed camber on FL from -3.0 to -2.5
  • camber on FR was still -3.0
  • changed camber on FR from -3.0 to -2.5 to match FL
  • camber on FL automatically changed to -4.0
Those are made up values because I don’t recall what the actual numbers were but hopefully you get the idea. Change corner [X] to something, opposite side of the car doesn’t change. Change the opposite side of the car to match corner [X], and corner [X] has now changed to something else. Something is just out of whack and not symmetric with the car.

AMS2 will be alright in the future from what I have learned about Reiza over the years from going through this exact same procedure of developing a Sim from a new engine...rFactor1 to AMS1 has taught me that...so I am not worried in the slightest ;)...the future of AMS2 is going to be EPIC, so for the moment I will stick to the car and track combos that I like :inlove:
