AC AC Eurocar Multi class Challenge at Silverstone GP- Thursday July 11th

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Sorry to bug out early, this didn´t work out for me.

The Lotus was so BOP nerfed that I couldn´t out accelerate an frigging 320i.
(It was over a second slower than in practice without BOP.)

That pissed me off and I started hamfisting the car around the corners which of coursee only makes it worse.
After my second spin I decided to call it a night before I affected Hanks et al races even more.

Edith:

data shows it only lost about 2kph top speed, so the problem seems to have been on the seat once again.

Well done everyone!
Sorry about the reverse grid cock up but at least it made it interesting.
I forgot to press the start button (talking too much!) but watched some very exciting racing in both classes.

Can you leave comments on how your car went, tyre wear, speed ( mine needed to go a lot faster :p) BoP etc and if you'd like to do this again.

Thanks for joining , it was fun.

As I joined last minute just jumped in the GT4 and concentrated on improving my lines so not much to add other than enjoyed the trip!

Might try the BMW next time as not sure the GT4 suits my driving style...

Edit.

Just tried the BWM and knocked 4 seconds off my best time in the GT4 after 5 laps so think this will be my chariot of choice going forward.

Yes yes, definitely again.

The Fiat Tipo is a super fun car to drive and race wheel to wheel because it's super stable and once you get used to the massive understeer on slow corners you're in for a treat.
I also felt that the matchup at silverstone between the Tipo, Cupra and BMW was pitch perfect. I managed to hang on for quite a bit and see the Cupra/BMW battle between John and Hank. and also had really nice tight fights with David and Thomas Crabos(also with a Cupra and BMW). From my racing lines versus their lines the only difference I could see was that the Tipo seemed to get better traction out of slow corners better that the others, while the others seemed less understeery and could take a more circular line around the same corners. I also seemed to be the fastest off the starting line on both races.

Loved especially the first race, because I did not lose my focus from starting in front of a full grid ;p
Milestone moment: have a race best lap be within 1s from John's and Hank's best laps!

Thanks for all the effort in putting up this combo and with the 25 min races. I would love to take the Tipo once again in the near future

Thanks Hank, I was keeping an eye on you and John in race one, very close and in race two I jumped in several drivers cars to watch the action.
Han was going well in race 2 with Jason and Thomas close behind and you and John were having a great race for a long time in the Gp2 class.
And very well done Paulo, I was watching you too and you were competitive in the Tipo , sorry about the reverse grid scare...... but at least you have done it now and everyone was well behaved when passing.

First race was a lonely grind, not were I like to be. Second race I really enjoyed the chase.
It was never going to achieve much, but most enjoyable.
Thomas had a spin on the last lap and was unlucky to have me right on his tail, once past with all long straights there was no coming back. Sorry Thomas:O_o::p:D:D

Does anyone run a Pico 4 ??

Nothing much to say about the Xbow, setup was very accomplished and meaning full I cannot say that about some of the other cars.
Tyres held up as you would expect for Hards.
Cannot comment on its pace vs the other cars, apart from Thomas who was slow enough on the straights to have little to combat the Xbow, but if he had the same straight line speed he would be too fast over a lap, sort that one out.:D:D

I took the BMW because when I registered it says me that the Cupra is not available anymore. And it's the only car that I have ever race with recently. Not important, but not the best way to feel confident for a first race with you.

I must say that I take a little spanking when I saw your chrono, I expecting to be in the middle field, but I barely held onto the back of the pack . About it, I have to congratulate Hank who run on 2'11 with the BMW .

I choose mediums for the race and I was on eggs during the last 2 laps.

Thank you Paul @Shed 17 for the organisation and congratulation to all. Excuse me for not participating much on Discord, my English is faltering.

Oh, by the way, I was DNF in the two races, because the race stop during my last lap (entering Club corner) ;), I don't know if it's matter.

See you soon !

Sorry Thomas, I forgot to mention in the race details that the number of cars available was limited. I did this to try to get a good spread of manufacturers across both classes. As it happened every make was represented but I’ll put more on next time or you can drop me a message asking for another car.
As for the DNF, I’ll have a look at the time out settings, probably not long enough for Gp 2 cars.

Thanks so much @Shed 17 Paul for setting this up, you put a huge effort into getting the classes balanced, much appreciated  Congrats also to both class podium finishers!

Most of all, whilst there's bound to be some door handle swaps:p ...what a pleasure to have such hard and fair racing, really enjoyed that.

@H_Belane Hank, what great fun that was! So difficult to catch you:confused:

Re the cars (equality etc), maybe it needs another track or two to finalise BoP (for class2), Paulo did a great job in the Fiat, it has great top speed, same for the Bimmer, not sure where the Cupra is quicker, I think maybe in medium speed, and traction from slow corners perhaps:unsure:

Would love to try the Lotus in the next one, though happy to go in any class:)

The Lotus is a blast to drive, but tricky with liftoff oversteer ( don´t ask :cautious:)
I´m not sure the recent Bop is fair, I really had difficultys to get away from Hank in the Bimmer.
(yeah I iknow, Hank in the Bimmer is a tough nut to crack but the C1 cars should be 2-3sec faster than c1, right??)

Yes , just could not get on with the lotus, very cleverly created rear roll oversteer at the limit due to the engine configuration.
Up until you get to the limit it is at great drive, but once the limit is arrived at you are into its roll rear lift oversteer.
Not a car I can drive. :(

It was a great race yesterday. The KTM is a very nice car to drive, a bit too understeery perhaps as Jason and Thomas could easely come on the inside. But the overall grip, accelleration and top speed were fine. These characteristics made it possible for me to challenge the fast guys in race 2.
In the race I improved my PB several times and was able to do 2.06s.
I would love to do it again.
