ACC 50 Minute Race @ Brands Hatch - Thursday 29th August

Assetto Corsa Competizione Racing Club event
I can do the event, but I can't go faster than a 1:28. Is there any point me doing it, or am I just going to be in the way?
We need more drivers like yourself in all honesty. People that want to get quicker in a community that is willing to help wherever we can. I've been at this years now and still learn something new most events - a different line, new brake point etc.

BRANDS HATCH
It comes around quickly each week - race day! With the return of some familiar names, a tight but fast flowing circuit and a good size grid (considering it's summer) we're all set for a cracking 50 minute race.

Just a few things to remember for Brands Hatch:
  • Pit Entry - sent from hell, it's main purpose in life is to kill you so be careful
  • Overtaking traffic - narrow circuits and lapping other cars can lead to chaos. Drivers being lapped can move out the way early and when safe to do so but otherwise stay on the racing line and let the driver behind decide when to move
  • Pit Exit - Also sent from hell - in qualifying cars leaving the pit lane give way. In the race the cars already on track keep an eye out and leave room if someone is leaving the pits
See you all later, any questions just ask

Great racing all, had a blast racing with Harry today! Both pushing 100%, it was going to be down to who made a mistake first and I dropped the ball with a few laps to go. With summer starting to gradually fade out I'm hoping that numbers will start to increase again and we'll see what's what in terms of running a series soon.

Great race last night chaps. I think I cracked why I wasn't enjoying racing very much - I was pushing too hard and I got a lot more out of being steady and consistent than I did trying to push myself to be faster than I was able to go. I had a great battle with Jay - I could have finished 6th if it wasn't for a couple of silly mistakes, but that is racing.

I was a bit confused by the results though - I was sure we had 9 in the server at one point - but I might be confusing myself?

It's a shame the racing club grids are comparatively small - but I am not sure what you can do about that. Part of me thinks people do not want to pay to simrace (even if the annual sub for racedepartment is a pittance and worth every penny). But there are loads of premium members - I just understand why people don't take part. I suppose on something like SimGrid, there is an advertising window to get people in. But it makes me wonder why people pay for premium membership, but then do not use the benefits of being a premium member! Do overtake have any plans to make changes to Premium membership, or any plans to try and get more punters through the door of the racing club?

Sorry for the rambling post - I am just genuinely interested, as I there is a massive amount of potential around organised events attached to the community.

Nice one, glad you figured it out and had a good battle with Jay. I think we had 9 in qualifying but had a DNF in the race.

With regard to numbers it's something we've been battling for a few years now. From personal research part of it is down to the fee and part seems to be down to the numerous other places people can race these days.

Overtake are reviewing it

Hi Will, what happened yesterday?
Just took the corner too quick which resulted in a bit of oversteer, the contact wasn’t hard but it said my car was wasted and to pit.

Inchidents happen, but with the numbers we had I felt more gutted that I had to DNF and leave you lot a driver down.

I had a similar experience. Touched the grass in Lap 8 and the damage was to big to drive normal lap times.
Let’s hope the next race at Bathurst goes without incidents.
