2024 Formula One Season

Story I saw on Twitter/X - and elsewhere - about the next F1 Concorde Agreement having a stipulation that reduces the maximum number of teams from 12 to 10. That would come into effect in 2026 if it's agreed and would mean that Andretti would have to buy an existing team to be able to get a f1 entry.
A clear attempt to stifle any sort of competition from new teams.
Surely that's got to the bad for the "sport".

However I'd imagine that the F1 teams might be prepared to give way on this but ONLY if the "buy-in" charge for new teams is substantially increased.

That will also have the effect of increasing the value of the struggling teams.
Dorilton would have a way of making a profit on their investment in Williams if Andretti need to buy a team to be able to go F1 racing.
I'd guess that buying Williams - for example - would be less than the revised "buy-in" charge.

Formula 1 has announced the "Formula 1 Channel", a 24/7, subscription-free streaming channel for fans in the USA to watch F1, F2, F3 and F1 Academy race replays and highlights, full reruns of classic Grands Prix, and popular racing documentaries.

The new channel, which launches in the USA ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, will be operated by partner C15 Studio and distributed for fans to watch via services including Samsung TV Plus, Amazon Freevee, and Pluto TV.

Rumours abound that Adrian Newey is looking to leave Red Bull.
Retirement or pastures new?
With "gardening leave" a dead cert, how about getting involved with Andretti?
If they aren't competing in F1 then "garden leave" surely can't apply... can it?

Things are going to change in 2026 and hopefully, we will see competitive races.
I had a moment to complain and think - everyone know the current regulations is a bit of a disaster why don't they just bring forward more regulation changes for next year....

Then a second thought - didn't these current regulations get delayed?

How likely that they $port is so $uccessful and enthused with the $ensational achievement of record equaling 5 times in a row World Champion that they will actually find a rea$on to push regulation change back so that Max can take a RECORD BREAKING 6 times in a row driver's championship in 2026 ? I wouldn't be too surprised.

The problem in the future looking along those lines is that the viewers will eventually only tune in for the first and the last.
To be honest I think that the whole 'money thing' has got itself out of hand, and when it goes boom, and the fickle investors find their banks are empty and their shares are worthless they'll cry.
At least Bernie had an interest in Motorsport, he even drove in his younger days, unfortunately, he thought to invite some of the bigger boys in and they ate him and spat out the bones from 'their' investment.
Anyone (individual) trying to get a foothold on the investments ladder had best stay away, Ryan I'm looking at you, you're backing a big company that can afford F1 but would rather use your money... yup Alpin, if Renault really wanted to win they could fire some of their $50bn turnover at it, but nah!

Hmm... the viewership is down.

What do you make of this?

This is no difference than Lewis Hamillton or Nigel Mansell dominating. Or even Senna or Shumacher. But Red Bull are in hot water. Horner scandal and Newley leaving. A Ford power plant that may not be on par with other teams in 1st season. And Max is looking for a drive with Mercedes. So the team RED BULL will fall apart soon. To many major changes will leave them in a rebuilding phase.

Max has failed to get a pole for the first time this season as he finished the qualifying at number 6 spot. Leclerc takes pole and will start the race tomorrow at the front with Piastri in the front row.

Prediction, another season of Max demonstration runs. Viewership and racing attendance will be down.
The stands are always packed for events. Maybe less in the fly away races. I remember Bernie had cut outs of people to put in stands at China back in the day. But the sport must make a profit to survive. And with James Vowles and other's wanting more money (Even though he cant get more performance out the car) It is just like the politicians tax citizens and give less back in services (Police, Schools, Roads, Public stuff) Just remember Max had a poor run at Monaco. But that track pisses of a lot of drivers and fans. But it has money for FIA so who cares.
