@suspectmonkey Sorry for the punt! I know you don't have to wait during a championship race however I felt it was the right thing to do, I couldnt see how far you had gone off track though and after re-installing Raceroom my audio settings in game had been reset and it was drowning out TS so couldn't hear what you were saying too well.

Great race anyway and congrats to the guys on the podium!

Thanks for letting me join my first round of this championship:D! I had some though luck do:rolleyes:, and I unfortunately hit someone from behind (on p12?) by mistake under breaking:thumbsdown:..sorry, my apologies:(.. Nevertheless, awesome race guys:thumbsup: Gratz to the winners!:)

Greets, Jer

No worries at all, was just one of those things and I appreciate you waiting as I know it cost you the battle with @Gogui96! Don't worry, I wasn't saying anything untoward on TS, just encouraging you to keep going ;)

I really enjoyed trying to chase you guys down. I think I was about 4-5 seconds behind after the pit stop but I had a string of clean laps and with you guys swapping position I managed to close the gap bit by bit. Unfortunately I didn't quite know what to do once I got there! As Murray says, "catching is one thing, passing is quite another" :)

I think Jeremy did apologize:

I can't be certain this is your incident though but if it is that appears to be a sincere apology. Not sure what makes it a "bad" apology.

Also waiting often brings out the yellow flag which then gives people who overtake the "waiting driver" a drive through. I waited for someone in round 1 and as a result the person I punted and two others got drive through penalties. I apologized for the initial punt and for the double impact of the drive through. The drivers concerned were understanding of my mistake.

I am not justifying anyone or any action, just making you aware of the potential issues with waiting in race room when full flags and penalties are enabled.

Jim's absolutely right guys, this is league racing and not club racing. The Golden Rule does not apply here, and as full flag rules are enabled waiting can and will result in penalties for anyone overtaking the waiting car. So, please do not wait even if you know you caused the incident as it's not just the guy you hit that could have his race ruined. Feel free to apologise on TS and/or the forums, but keep driving.

For those that have been punted, if you feel it was anything other than a racing incident then please use the normal incident reporting procedure, contacting either Bram or myself. Cheers guys.

Congratulations to the podium last night.
Big apologies to anybody I got in the way of in retrospect I should have given this race a miss was still full of the flu after 20 minutes my concentration was totally blown, ended up doing 2 pit stops somehow managed to cancel the first then got a drive through, when I managed to do the second attempt got a drive through again, all in all one to forget for me.

Thanks for clearing that up Ross! I honestly wasn't sure whether or not the "golden rule" applied for league racing and was going to ask for clarification. Can't get much clearer than that!

The yellow flag rules do seem a bit odd, as if a yellow flag is thrown because of a car off track or stationary then you shouldn't get a penalty for passing that car, otherwise we'd all have to stop dead! If you overtake another car (that isn't the one the yellow was thrown for) in that zone then you should receive a penalty, but it sounds like some people are receiving penalties just for passing the stationary or slow moving car?

I'm not entirely sure how R3E determines whether a car is spinning / losing control / crashed to be honest. Track position and direction of travel compared to direction of facing maybe? No idea. It seems fairly good at it though, giving a yellow flag for a "crashing" car and a white flag for one which is simply slow moving. (A yellow flag also often converts into white as the car rejoins.)

But yes, you do not get penalised for passing a car that is the cause of a yellow flag. I think the problem is this slight confusion over the Golden Rule. Most of us spend far more time in the clubs than we do in the leagues. For me personally the moment I bump someone my automatic initial reaction is to check my mirror and lift off, preparing to wait. Even this can cause an issue with full flag rules because the lift can cause someone to drift past just as the yellow flag appears.

That said, the game does appear to have some inbuilt "error detection". Last night I was told that I'd overtaken under yellow after an incident and to allow whoever it was to retake the position. I had no idea who it was, but a few seconds later I was told I was all clear even though I hadn't been overtaken by anyone. I put it down to the game deciding that whoever it was had either spun themselves, or was caught up in the incident and stationary. Either way, I didn't get a penalty.

Eejj man:thumbsdown:, I'm very sorry for the collision and loss of places..didn't know it was you..but fine by me if you do so of course, I can understand your frustration;)..But I also got hit in the back by some other driver, and spung off..lost big time..should I put in a protest? No way.. Gome on, It's part of racing..remember you went a bit out of shape, so I saw an opportunity to pass..you could have gone wide, but it didn't.. and about the waiting, I think the rule say that during a championchip, you just continue, and they'll figure it out after the race..with RDGPC that's the case, so maybe I'm confused:O_o:..but It was an accident, not on purpose..again my apologies:(

Just watched the stream back... phew... that was tight in the mid-field! I actually find my heart rate is higher watching the race back than during the race :D Great work as always @Joseph Wright and @pjlee1998, and it was great to hear the one and only @Paul Glover on the mic as well. Thought you guys worked really well together! Looking forward to Rnd 3

Thanks John, never done that before. Was harder than I expected, good luck in the next round!

Thanks Paul! I wasn’t sure if it was your first race commentary, as to be honest you sounded like you’ve been doing it all your life! Then again, anyone who has ever raced with you will know you’ve got the “gift of the gab” ;)

Can’t decide if I should, like, love, disagree with your post. So conflicted right now! ;)
