Yes indeed,in a most spectacular fashion as well,but when i was posting my "calm philosophy" i was actually thinking about Chris "The Stalker" Walker a few years back in the Brit SBK,the final round at Brands i think basically all he had to do was finish with some points then his Suzuki starting to smoke and eventually broke down handing the title to Hodgson,there wasnt a dry eye trackside watching the poor kid sobbing his way back to the paddock,maybe a tear in my eye too....

totally agree, there are plenty of stories, also two at our doorstep:

yvan muller lost the last wtcc in macau by engine failure in the last lap of race1, handing the title to priaulx (i think the part that malfunctioned was worth a few euros only ...)

attila lost all chances in the first rpm race06 tournament when he got a disconnect in race 4 or 5 and had to fight his way back up from grid2, there were tears all over the forum i can tellya

i was talking about 2:02 as for the pre-qualy times which will determine the groups, which will be done without fuel usage and tyre wear, so like in Time Attack.

btw i almost got to 2:01, so far 2:02.0...
