The title promised by Assetto Corsa modding group turned game developer REG Simulations has entered early access on Steam.

Argentinian studio REG Simulations have been promising over the past year a sim racing title featuring content pertaining to their home country's racing scene, such as Turismo Carretera and TC2000. Along with that, many tracks within the Latin American country including Autódromo de Rosario, Autódromo Roberto José Mouras circuit and Autódromo San Nicolás are part of PISTA Motorsport.

After spending considerable time in closed beta, sim racers now can get it in Early Access on Steam right now for €14.79. Here is what you can expect with your copy of PISTA Motorsport in its early access form.

A good start, obviously it has some similarities to AMS, but the driving is entirely different because the cars in this simulator belong to different categories. However, seeing that there was a Crespi F3 means a lot to those who know the tradition of this category. The graphics really don't matter at this stage of development; what does matter are the sensations, and the game transmits an exceptional front grip. The rear part still needs more development to feel the loss of control (I'm talking about the F3, which is rear-wheel drive).

The other car I tried was the Fiat, and having driven a Fiat for many years on the road, I can find some similarities, especially in the understeer. I hope they continue expanding with South American tracks. It's good to have a different vibe in simulation... not everything is GT3 or GT4. There also needs to be room for less famous categories. What I hope from this simulator is that they keep working on it periodically.

Bought it and asked for a refund after 5 minutes. I tried to set up my Fanatec rig and could not input anything except my throttle pedal.

Will try again when they've solved that issue.
I don't know how your controllers are attached / setup but I found I needed to select my Thrustmaster TS300 at the top, assign the controls for that, and then select my Thrustmaster shifter and assign thoughs. I couldn't assign the shifter controls while I had the wheel selected at the top. I'm not saying that is what your problems are, I just found that's what I needed to do to get it to work. Once in game it all functioned well.

Getting it tomorrow, like STCC and GSC before it'll introduce me to some little known tracks and the cars will be fun.

OK so couldn't resist and just had a couple of laps.
Haven't got the time for VR test yet.
FFB response seems to work just fine, but reminds me of response from SimRaceWay.
Graphics seems bedated, and I really miss Helmet Cam option.
Besides I miss quite more graphics options, such as speed induced blur effects and so on.
In general the option menus are not exactly with detailed choices. I hope it will be added later...
Surely early stages, but I'm on :)

Agreed, spent a good bit of time in time trial trying to get near the Pista guy's times and you need to work the setup a lot to calm the rear down. It's nice to drive and on the limit. Online races could be really hectic in this game with these slower cars.

Also agreed on the fwd cars, I drove the Etios for a little bit and felt OK, I could control the understeer and oversteer mid corner with the throttle pedal alone, which is accurate.

Promising for sure and for a small group building something from the ground up this is a very good start.

Given the way sim racing has been over the past year and a half I'm keen for anything new...

The complaints I've read about their history is just run of the mill for modders turned video game makers in this day and age... Bad customer service is to be expected... They're usually very touchy about their work... They aren't alone on their continent in that regard...

They're shady business seems bad until you take a look at sim racing as a whole... Not one developer has a clean slate... And somehow certain characters get away with far worse and are championed by sectors of the community because of eye candy...
