Came to the conclusion that the default values for some parameters (like exposure sensitivity) are still better.
I recommend trying these settings, then it will not be so dark at dusk or without direct sunlight

fixed HDR filter, clouds are too bright in the rain
Added filter for HDR monitors, it uses a different tone mapping function.
This filter has a more correct brightness and color of the sky, it also removes overexposure from some surfaces. Would look better on an HDR monitor or TV

Аlso fixed too dim image at twilight
Trying to make AC graphics look like Gran Turismo 7.

Now there are only two filters in the set
  • ILP - this filter does not depend of the pure config file, can be used with other filters, but cannot be edited through the settings window (changes will be reset to original values)
  • ILP_editeble - is the same filter, but it can be edited in the pure settings window. Аlso you must first load the ILP config file in the pure config window
Received feedback about a small problem. In the summer months at noon on almost all tracks there is too much sun. Unfortunately, in the last update, I added all the basic pure config settings in the script file, so if you change the light.sun.level in the pure config window, then the next time you start the game, your new settings will be reset.
I don't plan to release an update, but you can easily fix it yourself:

in any text editor, open a lua file that has the same name as the ppfilter, find
light.sun.level", __IntD(1.8, 1.2, 0.2)
and replace it with
light.sun.level", __IntD(1.8, 1.0, 0.2)
This should fix the too bright sunlight at noon.
The required lua file can be found here
assettocorsa\system\cfg\ppfilters\pure_scripts\
  • Improved the balance between light and shadow in the daytime. Now overexposure from the sun on many surfaces has disappeared, especially noticeable in the cockpit
  • Almost all the pure config settings were transferred to the script file. No more need to load pure config anymore if you switched to filter from other mods and decided to put this filter back. Pure config settings file removed from archive, now it won't overwrite your settings or other mods settings.
  • And many other less noticeable changes
goodbye Corsa :)

  • reduced bloom effect for noon. Now brake lights do not have a bloom effect during the day
  • balanced the brightness of the clouds for dusk. In the previous version, I went too far with brightness
  • enabled the clouds2D.advanced_shadows option again, with it cloudy weather more often has sun, though it doesn't always look right
  • slightly reduced the loss of contrast when looking towards the sun
  • VAO (Vertex Ambient Occlusion) gets stronger at dusk and overcast

  • slightly balanced the level of sunlight between noon and sunset, now the sunset is not so bright, and the day is a little more sunny
  • returned the settings of the VAO to default. Unfortunately the trees will be a bit darker (which I don't like), but everything else still looks better.
  • added some brightness to the clouds, because in the afternoon the clouds were too dull for some weather
  • the sunlight became brighter especially noticeable in the evening
  • more realistic lighting when looking at the sun
  • increased car display brightness
  • increased night lighting
  • slightly reduced lens glare brightness
  • slightly increased brightness of specular reflections
  • and many other improvements
