Hi all, cool community, btw.

In my professional career (I work in the music bizz) I had the luck and privilege of working with Dave Gilmour and record/mix in his private studio, "Astoria" that is built in a magnificent house boat on the river Thames. The boat used to belong to Charlie Chaplin, btw.

So Dave all the way for me!

Cmon guys. the guys worth even mentioning are the one's who shift your paradigm so far you stand there and say "holy sh*t!" when you here it the first time!

Jimi Hendrix "machine gun" live!

Eddie Van Halen.... Eruption, Cabo wabo, amsterdam etc.

Yngwie Malmsteen.......... in a class by himself but relatively unknown

my picks!

:sinister:

Nice to see Ayreon get a mention :)

And van halen too, first time i heard eruption..jaw to ground moment.

All these bands, VH and PF, not going to see them live :( at least not in their original lineups and, especially VH, when they're not looking about 300 years old due to drugs and alcohol abuse...

I've only heard good things about the Aussie Pink Floyd, need to look into seeing them live when they're next in the UK.

:)

the Aussie Floyd show is just simply worth the $ period. seen them twice from inside 14 rows here in USA last 2 years. one was the entire Darkside album plus many hits and then this year was the wall entirely plus 4 song encore.

Shine on you crazy Diamond was indescribable....

Another great solo is "Hey You" by Pink Floyd. A great riff underneath a emotion-filled solo that just screams!
