Who will be the first Goalscorer in the Spain vs. Nederlands game?
Answer: Wesley Snejder
I don't even know why Australia is in the AFCEven though we are throwing in youngsters, and getting ready for the 2015 Asian Cup, I am obviously still going for Australia.
If we make it to the group stage. There might be one hell of a party down here
you know we hold the record for the most goals in a game of international soccer? 31-0 vs American Samoa in 2001.I don't even know why Australia is in the AFC
Now you don't have Archie Thompson for the national team, so you wouldn't win 31-0 (only 18-0 ) Plus you technically gain automatic passage to the World Cup Play-Offs at least in the OFC and always get Confederations Cup. And most importantly, Australia is in Oceania lolyou know we hold the record for the most goals in a game of international soccer? 31-0 vs American Samoa in 2001.
Archie Thompson scored 13 of those.
That is why we are no longer in Oceania. Plus it give New Zealand and others a chance at the Confederations Cup, like Tahiti last year. And we get stronger opponents.
its a win-win-win-win-loss (usually world cup group stage) for us
Ah not quite, see we always won Oceania, but we often had to play against the 5th South American team (Uruguay twice), or a similar ranked team in a different conferece. It was hardly an automatic qualification. Now you don't have Archie Thompson for the national team, so you wouldn't win 31-0 (only 18-0 ) Plus you technically gain automatic passage to the World Cup Play-Offs at least in the OFC and always get Confederations Cup. OK, I said automatic passage to the play-offs at leastAh not quite, see we always won Oceania, but we often had to play against the 5th South American team (Uruguay twice), or a similar ranked team in a different conferece. It was hardly an automatic qualification.
And lets face it, when you can either do well at the World Cup, or simply qualify for the Confederations, I know I would choose the World Cup.
As for being in Oceania, well I totally agree But in terms of football, we are in Asia and much better off for it
