Why has AC such weird physics when your car crashes?

AC was not meant for Rally... this argument is not valid when it comes to complaining about the game physics
damn...I KNOW it used to be a GT3-sim and no rallye-sim...but you have the same issues, when jumping saussage curbs, or sliding into a grass/dirt-banking and yes...i mostly drive mod-tracks...but the tracks ain't the only problem...its the general colission-feelers(is it that, what it's called?) and very often when a car isn't on all 4 wheels, or jumping...mainly on the rear axle...its just bouncy as hell and has bad physics and you FEEEEEEEEL, that something isn't right

...look, i didn't start this discussion...but i deeply understand, what elaphe was trying to say, because i experienced some REALLY WEIRD behavior, not realistic and buggy in MANY ways...there just is a point, where the physics of the game fail and where other sims are capable to do better, when it comes to collissions, turning over/flipping, jumping, landing on 2 wheels, etc and at this point my english skills lack vocabulary to further explain it more clearly...i just was thinking, a game that modern compared to what i had driven before, should have done better

Flat laying tyres as kerbs with a high COG mod car are a bad combination in AC :D

It is what it is. AC tried to have the most accurate physics for its time and many many people love it for that reason.
Coding anything that's more than lifting a tyre a few cm over kerbs probably would've taken too much time and wasn't worth it.
And when it would've been, ACC happened and Stefano left Kunos.

I dislike the chassis collision physics though. Touching an opponent car often leads to both cars spinning.
In ACC, Raceroom and rF2, I never spun due to little bumps...
Multiplayer only btw.

But I still love AC. It has lots of unique upsides! :)

totally agree, but i think it would have been worth

There is nobody to complain to, title is long desupported by devs.
Considering that clean racing is main prerequisite of going fast and even finishing the race, is crash physics really that crucial? It reacts reasonable fine on minor typical during race contacts.

Everybody is free to enjoy the game the way they want, but may be accommodating for "not driving normally" Wreckfest crowd was not at the top of Kunos priority list.
My major annoyance with AC's crash physics is when the online competitors bounce off the walls across the track, at such a speed that you'd think the walls are elastic.

Something i have also experienced...or when you drive head to head and touch slightly and your car bounces of the opponents car, as if he intentionally rammed into you...
I had this 2 days ago...he was head to head on my left side, we barely touched with fenders and doors and i got thrown 2m to the right and of track on breaking

Original game cars? Mods?

Surprised you still have the game installed

The thing landing from jumps is due to how bumpstops absorb energy, the thing is though it's entirely within modders' control to avoid it, the spring/dampers just need to have enough range to absorb the entire landing. If it does happen the implication is you would have damaged the suspension. And at that point it may not be some photorealistic crash but as long as it sends your car off the track it's close enough.

Very funny...you can like a game AND critizise things, that are wrongabout it both at the same time...mostly just BECAUSE you like it and try to make it even better...constructive criticism.

No, not original content, but quality content (Skoda 120L Gr.5) and vanilla-track.

Then explain how you are going to make it better... all ears.

Also, gtsupreme is hardly a "quality content" provider. Physics are wildly guessed, and I bet the collider mesh is comical.
