What view do you drive in?

When racing offline or online, what view do you prefer? Overview, Cockpit, Hood?

I typically drive in-car with just the dash visible. I have been testing driving cockpit with the steering wheel.

Wish there was an in between though.
Dash Only gives the right depth perspective to real driving but you don't see what you usually would inside a car when driving IRL.
With Steering wheel is like driving in a real car but feels too zoomed out and immersion breaking.

Hood camera or fully open.

I generally like to play from cockpit view for the immersion, but find I'm faster from hood or bumper with GT7 hud mod

I tried VR for about a week and honestly is sucked the fun out for me, also my TVs resolution and size was more desirable but that second part could just be the headset I had. Which are you using?

I like to start in 3rd person for the first few turns to avoid rubbin' paint & then jump into cockpit for a few turns then go to hood (dash?) & then bumper or roof / hood / bumper - depends on the games options but pretty much churn through the views to finish with bumper cam.

I've raced in Cockpit View since GPL, never felt a need to change.

In all racing-games I have ever played I only use cockpit-view. I do think it is the most "realistic" view to play and have simulation feel, have the kinda real excitement of racing. (Also on Motorbikes - it's just awesome). External view imo is really for people who like arcade-feel or are not experienced drivers. In replays however it's a must have view.
