When it's top practitioners were/are in the ring, boxing is carnage and art. I have become a bigger fan of MMA (but not happy with a certain lack of rules). John McCain called it "...a human cockfight...". The leading studies say there is less damage done long term to MMA folks than to boxers, though not all the evidence is in. Either 'sport' I have a love/hate relationship with. To a degree it's a glorified victimization of people with very few life choices available.

I have watched a lot of Hagler fights with my grandpa, who was a big fan of his. In my eyes the Hearnes match is one of his ugliest, even if it was spectacular. But I guess I'm not a true boxing fan.
