We should make a BeamNG.drive category

See this video?

Looks exciting isn't it? Well this game is called BeamNG.drive and it has a small and struggling modding community, barely any new cars or tracks come out for it. I'd like you to adopt this game. Get some conversions in there, will ya?

Here's the website: https://www.beamng.com/

Out of curiosity since it is related to the OP...

Why isnt iRacing listed in the main games list? And why are games such as: GRally, Formula One Mobile Racing, Onrush, or the Ride Series listed there instead?

It was mentioned popularity is one such metric that is used, yet those mentioned above have as few as 2 total posts or 28 total messages... Are those 4 games more worth having listed in that main list than a game with 1100+ total posts and 26,000 messages?

Another metric was games being too old to still be relevant, but iRacing has been in constant development since release and isnt folding anytime soon.

iRacing is the most populated sim, yet it's hidden away. Why?

Bit odd I would say especially considering the heading for that games list is, "Sim Racing Games" yet half of those games in that list arent sims :p

Not that odd really, given that iRacing is generally considered a pseudo-competitor in the online racing community business. Competitors are not in the habit of obviously promoting each other. That forum is also barely used despite the sim's popularity (1000 threads over the sim's current life span is not much at all), presumably because they already have their own large community which is the logical place to go if you want to discuss or ask about that game. Most sims don't enjoy such a community so RD is a good one-stop-shop for them.

It's not necessarily about post counts though either. Given the age of the games you mentioned it's not all that surprising to find them on the main list at the moment. Most sims/games get their fair chance in the sun. If they prove unpopular or the forums get no new posts over some time, then they get relegated to "other racing games". Simples.

@natedog1867 Even at it's peak iracing never gained a lot of traction with our existing user base. It too was out in the main list originally. We also hosted events but it didn't take off. Most of the guys who got heavily into it in that period seemed to migrate off to their own forums and what activity was there slowly dried up.
