AC Warming up for Formula 1@Portimao, Thu 23rd February 2023

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
but I somehow bumped into another car on my left.
Yep, that was me.
I don't know if it happened to other drivers, but when I entered the pits, my crew was on strike and I just found the lollipop laying on the floor, no one was holding it
We found out that in this format in the second race the fuel addition in the pitstop strategy is gone so when you do your pitstop, nothing happens and it doesn't count for the mandatory pitstop. You can change that in the 5 min wait time before you push the 'drive' button but it's very annoying and it's easy to forget that.

But it also add to the realism if you regard that as a strategy screw up from your engineers:p! You're were driving a Ferrari, weren't you? Well, there you go!:roflmao:

In addition, I think I was the cause of the mess in T1 as I wanted to stay as clear as possible from @Boukâh which warned he would have been trying to leave the track to others, but I somehow bumped into another car on my left.
haha, was very weird view in my rear view mirror; smoke clouds all over the place and being in the lead a few turns up (had quite a good start actually) was an even weirder experience, let alone starting from a well deserved (ahum) pole position in a reversed grid second race

Track was tricky indeed with the rolling hills and limited view through the hilly turns. But it’s a very very nice track, it just needs a lot of practice and so does the car. Nice way to learn throttle control the hard way :) .

First race I don’t even want to talk about, me was a disaster on four wheels on ice. Second race I managed to stay on the track most of the time. Last few laps I finally had the feeling that in the future I could be more consistent on this track. Love to come back here someday!

Thanks Han! Congrats podium people and other survivors!

So sorry Han.. :notworthy:

It happened in both races and in fact the refill was made both times.. simply, I don't know who did it as there was no crew in my pit :D but there was in the other pits.

Pretty frustrating race in a pretty frustrating evening overall.
In addition, I think I was the cause of the mess in T1 as I wanted to stay as clear as possible from @Boukâh which warned he would have been trying to leave the track to others, but I somehow bumped into another car on my left. I don't know if I was too concentrated on drifting towards the left without doing it abruptly, of if my spotter was still sleeping, but I didn't realize that I had a car so close. Will have a look at the replay in the weekend but I apologize to everybody.

In both races it was very difficult to keep the car on track, I tried various setup adjustments, but I believe the difficult also came from the nature of the track, as all those ups and downs need to be taken into consideration when opening the throttle. I'm thinking about replacing the spring in my throttle pedal to make it harder, to make feathering easier. I spun the car way too many times.. all this in addition to lack of practice made the race less enjoyable than usual.

I don't know if it happened to other drivers, but when I entered the pits, my crew was on strike and I just found the lollipop laying on the floor, no one was holding it :O_o:

Cheers to the podium finishers, great drive both @Dani Martinez(Chechum) and @Twoddle ! Thanks @Han for the usual effort in organising, see you on track next week. I always had interesting and good races in Barhain, hopefully it'll be the same this time.
Don't beat yourself up, tricky car to drive and a hard track to master. Also, you were not the only one with a pit problem. I andothers had the same issue, made worse as i was in 2nd place behind Dani. It did it last week too when i was running in 1st on track. Both race positions do not happen to me very often so i was well pissed off and i just left the race. We all have our moments when it aint going the way we would like. Carsten posted a setup for the last race which works well from what i can see. Maybe try it and tweek it to your taste. Just keep at it and it starts to come together.

Actually I tried it but as I had no time for practicing before the race, my only experience with it was during the quali (which I joined when only 15 minutes were left) and as I didn't find the confidence I wanted, for the race I went back to the setup I used during the previous race which went better.
I'm now willing to find the time to practice a bit during the weekend or at least at the beginning of the week, not to arrive at the race without having even an idea of braking points or so. And luckily, I know the F1 circuits relatively well, if this wasn't an already known track it would have been worse.

I saw that you left the race before the end (I'm biased by the ping and connection problem I had and whenever I see "server communication" on top I always have a glance at whether it's me having lost the connection or not), but didn't know it was due to rage quitting :(
