ACC VR Hotfix Update.jpg

Kunos Simulazioni have released a new hotfix update for ACC, paying particular attention to addressing some VR related issues with the new Blancpain GT Series simulation.

Updates and hotfixes are always welcome in sim racing, and as such it is very nice to see that Kunos Simulazioni are not resting up with Assetto Corsa Competizione following the big 'Release 2' build deployment of October 10th. With that new release came the inclusion of VR gameplay for the very first time, and as can be expected with a new game, on a new engine platform, some things have still to be addressed before the latest version of the title can match the exceedingly high standards of the original Assetto Corsa simulation.

Not content to hold off until the next scheduled update, Kunos have today deployed a small fix to the simulation that has much attention to the world of VR gameplay, although it must be said that the latest hotfix release also works to address other issues of the title that have cropped up since the latest build, of which the details can be seen below:

Hotfix Update Notes
We are now online with a VR users dedicated hotfix introducing keyboard controls, fixed VR camera scaling (now 6DOF works properly) and some customization settings for your VR gaming experience.

for me the VR like many other things are not good but no anomaly it is a beta so nothing alarming, you should not cry wolf before the V0.99

<Mod edit: Not necessary.>

My brain bleeds when reading your fanboy-BS to justify horrible failures done by purpose. Many normal people seems to be able to fix the most horrific defaults Kunos released with this build. Why not doing at least that in the first place? The VR-UI is still the most horrible UI ever and really no reason why starting with this **** in the first place. You launch rF2 or pCars 2 and should know, how a VR-UI should look and function! There is no excuse delivering this pile of garbage!
And is why you understanding for understandings sake of the game state of the Virtual Repotoir.. If early accessories and devlopmentation of really unreal enginements can be quite specifficult. So I'm not sure if Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi would agree with me or you. What do you think?

I'm hoping these fixes & features are just some workarounds as having to assign 2 keys left/right or ctl/space like in AC is not a good idea. Having the ability to have a key modifier assigned would be a nice addition but it seems they are some way off having some basic functionality like mouse support. I'm guessing that they just port some stuff over from AC maybe to save time while they work on a better implementation. The ffb already feels very good imo & i guess that's what they really focus on for now. Looking forward to the next release.
Only one button is needed to recenter VR ! Press and hold look left or right ;)
There is and option to have a button have two functions , one is a press and another is a hold . Another thing Kunos have got right ! Really surprised other Sim makers ont do this !
I never got along with AC1 but think i may have a great time with ACC , so far its really enjoyable :)

I am still pretty disappointed in ACC. The title just pales in comparison to AC. I am baffled why Kunos has to have members of the public to tell them that the FFB is broken. Surely them booting up AC for 5 minutes will show that? Even though the FFB is slightly better now, its still not in the same league as AC. The UI menus look like a mobile game, horrible design, which I knew from the start would be straight up designed for consoles for what is destined to be a multi-platform game.

ACC is bound to ‘pale in comparison’ as it’s not even in its released state yet and is years behind AC when it comes to updates.
It’s better in some respects though.
Have you forgotten what AC was like upon release?

It’s far easier and cost effective getting the public to test their game and find issues than their own company.
For instance, us ‘users’ will have FAR more different types and combinations of hardware than Kunos do, from the MANY types of wheels to the various VR headsets to the different video and sound cards that have to work together.

Also they will have hundreds/thousands of people looking for problems rather than a handful, so will find more faster, so will be able to solve them quicker too.
They will also know off the paying public what works and what doesn’t.
Not only that but they can release the game earlier, getting money in the bank sooner and also making customers happier (well, those who realise what early access means).

Would you rather them release the game now in this state as it is, with the final release being early next year or a final release only possibly in a couple more years (when they have found out the issues themselves without our help and resolved them)?

I don’t mind the UI, it works fine now in VR low resolution and easy to navigate.

As much as i understand that this is early access, i think we cannot excuse the lack of basics. Gameplay, FFB, VR, Physics, some HUD items hiding behind or outside the vehicle when changing scale i can excuse as early access problem, but to struggle through the in game menu is inexcusable. This is the bare minimum i am expecting.

I was super frustrated last week with the VR experience to the point of switching off my pc. This week it was better, and i enjoyed every moment on track.

For me personally, when i get on track, nothing else but that matters. That's why i do this, to drive and enjoy myself.

I'm in Kunos seconde most stupid Fanboy-base here and yes, i feel better to tell the truth

You certainly don't discover it today ... yes, it's an AC fanbase here ....Now you know it, you should take a bit more distance from what is said here ;) that's what i'm doing, and it's ok for me^^ (so I won't say that's a stupid fanboy base, I would say I don't totally agree with them ;)

While VR is a great addition to sim racing, is it possible that some expected too much too soon? I'm purposely waiting until this tech is optimized for today's systems before I dive into VR. I have friends who bought these kits for their kids and even the kids are mature enough to understand that.
LOL, oh wow, straight up disagree's on this one! So one doesn't need a top end system to enjoy VR now? I understood it so far that there was still issues with resolution and FPS with most set ups...The peeps I know have said that outside of the included games that come with these kits, their systems bog down and the picture gets "fuzzy" (screen door). Navigating in most of the games (menu etc.) are annoying too.
Off topic I know, but has there been much improvements with the new HTC Vive Pro kit or any others? Thx.:)

edit: I also noticed that the heat from the eye goggles made my head sweat..Didn't get nausea that some experience though, but It felt uncomfortable to wear after 10-15min.

According to a user on another forum you can also double-click one of those buttons to re-center VR, which is probably a bit faster than holding it for two seconds. (I have yet to confirm this myself)

working fine with my Vive and 1080ti / I7-7700K... 90FPS while alone on track and 45-90 with full grid and rain.... ;) pretty sure its just a question of your config.. SteamVR settings; NVIDIA settings, *.json settings and ACC in-Game settings.

I am not disputing your comments, but my controller works great (X Box One). My deadzone is set on "0".
move your Stick or controller for 3-4mm left or right nothing happens even dz is 0. You can also check it in the controller menue. It‘s like in pc2

Same PC here but i've chosen 45 locked with 1.4 pixel density and it looks great ! Loving the textures , lighting and weather effects ! Not to mention the FFB and Ai ;)
@Brandon Wright i haven't got it to work with the double press but the press and hold works fine , its not as though it needs doing every lap ! So its just upon first sitting in car and it seems to align for both cars for me :)
