Virtual Steward just loads the replay file, the format of which is undocumented so I have to reverse engineer it. I still haven't found any information ragarding incidents or going off track, maybe they are there but I doubt it, it looks like it's focused mainly on storing data regarding the "visual" part of the race just to play it back.

I tried doing some automated incidents discovery but I kinda gave up on that.

Online servers get notified by clients about collisions both between cars and with environment, and some of them logs that information. Since I guess you were talking about online racing, you could try and get that data.

I have over 5,000 cars installed and Virtual Steward is taking a long while to build up a database of the content, I'm not sure as well if it's actually building one since there are no hints of progress in my logs. Is there any workaround for this? Will there be a fix for this soon as well? Thanks

EDIT: Loading successful as soon as I made this post, took around 8 to 10 minutes. A progress bar for this would be a good QOL addition for the app, as well as filters and a search bar. Thanks again for this app

Well, at least I used a separate thread so you didn't have to wait 10 minutes just for the app to open... XD

Search feature already in the to do list, progress bar I'll see what I can do.
 
Fantastic App, and if you are a content creator it works great for multi car shots like drifting, any update on replay audio and tire smoke? during the actual replay it works, but when you are watching the replay of the vs replay you just did the only tire smoke is from the car being driven?

That's a new one. Smoke is generated by AC physics engine, if you can see it while driving with a VS server car, it should also show in the relative replay. There's is some loss of data when sending wheels information from VS to AC still, when drifting, wheels rotational speed should be high enough to not be affected by the data compression of the client/server protocol.

Did you try fiddling with the settings for smoke generation in CM? Both in the AC section and in Particles FX of CSP. Maybe increasing the level of smoke generation can solve or lessen the problem.

Also, about the sound, the other user that reported the problem in the reviews, said it was actually a modded car with a "weird sound profile". Do you get the problem with all cars?
 
I hope I'm not asking something that is answered but is there a way to disable penalties? i have a map were the start and the pits are far away and i always get teleported to pits with a 30s penalty when ever I'm trying to reach the starting line.

Hi, if that's because of the wrong way penalty you need to delete/rename the "fast_lane.ai" file in the "ai" folder for the track.

You can also try setting the ALLOW_WRONG_WAY = 1 in the CSP setting file as for CSP documentation:


The file I send to CSP are stored in the "CSP Settings" folder either in VS folder or in "Documents/Virtual Steward" folder but you need the latest free version from Patreon for that.
