I didn't know if I was available tonight, till only a short time before start. So, no sign up, formal or in formal. I was at a loose end (no jokes, at the back), thought I'd take a chance. With all the pages in this thread, I expected more on the server.
When I saw the turn out (8), I checked the server settings. Only a couple of minutes left in qually. I thought, maybe the race time is later, and the participants had just let the server run through sessions. My first question on joining, was in that regard. Only to find, it was indeed approacing race start time. I really couldn't believe it, the mod is excellent. The track, very much in keeping.
I'd joined with an rs500, I'm not particularly adept, with any of the cars and especially round Adelaide. So, my one practice lap in warm up, was 8 seconds slower than qually pole... lol. I decided to go for it, from the rear (again, no jokes). I was content to follow Gareth, in his Escort. That is, until I found I could get round a bit quicker, than 8 secs of the pace... lol.
I was running round in clean air, catching Toni... then noticed I was in 4th. Took myself, way too seriously, for a lap or two. Ofcourse, the track taught me a lesson or three, normal service resumed. The 15/16 seconds I had on Gareth was lost... serves me right... lol.
Sam (Moss) went out, and Toni had a moment.. I found myself, in 2nd. I wasn't able to make any impression on Steve, out front. Nor was I able, to make a break from Toni. I ran wide at the hairpin, on the final lap. Giving Toni, his 2nd place back. He promptly had another moment, rather than run home in 2nd, I waited and gave the position back.
All in all, I had a great time, my pace never as fast as Sams'. Especially, after the walls had reshaped my car... lol.

Thanks RD. Grats to Steve, Toni and David... the finishers.

Had a fun time last night, the track and especially the mod made for a cracking combination. Having only practiced during the day setup was a complete shot in the dark especially as I changed from the nissan skyline to the bmw in the warmup. Still it handled ok on default and it was good fun racing.

Steve was the class of the field storming to victory I on the hand was just glad to finish one race.

Any setup tips for these cars greatly appreciated?
