AC Tin Top Thursday- Stock Cars at Daytona on Thursday May 30th.

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
@Shed 17 Paul, race 2, I think I just touched you a little on the rear inside, sorry for that, I turned my wheel very quickly to avoid that and then hit my pit-button. A shame actually, 'cause I still wasn't dead last after lap 1 T1, so that's progress

Anyway, nice car, nice track, butu hard to get it right. Car felt nice but couldn't get my braking under control so I waa all over the place. Good fun though! And while we were also in 'survival of the fittest' I ended up P4, hehe :roflmao:

Next time I'll enter with a little more practice.
No worries Bouke, I felt a light contact and you disappeared, I wasn’t sure what happened until you said. When we ran these cars at the Laustizring they felt a lot better, more grip and stability but here there were very edgy.
If anyone has any modern car/track combos they would like to drive on a Thursday let me know.

Politely, I'd say these cars are <cough> at least poor, unfinished mods. The TCR cars are stonking, leagues ahead - dunno if they're allowed here though.

For tracks I'd agree with stigs thoughts, though they are super anywhere, other than Monza and other tracks with less than 10 corners :p

The season has been taking me away from my racing this week so i should not comment on the race but again, the modern reboot version of Daytona is far better imho. It is hard to choose cars and tracks when there are restrictions so how about Caterhams, Shaune Clarks 5 BTCC, IER Oreca LM09 or their Corvette Daytona prototypes. I dont think these will cause any use issues .

Not too much speed I hope.

PS.
hope you get a speedy recovery Jason, sad to see you go out last night.
I have been suffering with this bad arm now for a few months, Normally it's fine for a race but cars like this with the oscillation in a straight line really mess it up quickly, without that happening i would have been fine.

Sorry to hear that Jason, I was getting a very slight oscillation on the straight but nothing too bad, the banking was bumpy but I'm used to that on this track.
I don't know what wheelbase you run but on mine I can fine tune the oscillation with damper and friction settings, I like a very small amount to be able to feel the road surface but it sounds like you had it bad on this mod.

I have a gear drive logitech g923 and it's the vibration in the gears during the oscillations that causes a lot of the issue.
Ah yes, I had one of those and it really does give the gears a shaking, hopefully we can avoid sub standard tracks going forward.
