F1 2014 Engine MOD
Hey everyone, I've made some modifications to F1 2013 game and I'm testing them out. They are only Engine and a bit of Car Handling modifications and include:
~ 600 bhp
15000 rpm
8 gears
ERS (atm. this is more for a "show" because it gives like additional 10KW (13bhp) )
691 kg from 640kg
V6 turbo sound (all credits go to chargingcar)
less front & rear grip
mod edit - video link removed no longer needed & is marked private
Why I'm not posting anything for download yet is because it's not ready yet, and because I wanted to consult with you about what you think would be better.
What I think should be changed:
- 15000 RPMs should be limited to 12500 - Why? Yes I know that FIA regulations allow up to max of 15000 RPMs for 2014 season but none of the teams go over 12500 RPMs while driving (because max output of engine is around 12000 RPMs, no need to rev higher)
- removing (K)ERS - as you all may know it this year there's ERS-K but there is no push button for driver, cause whole thing is integrated into the system, so I thought about removing it completely from game because of that, and because current KERS system in F1 2013 can't be modified to give 160bhp for ~30sec...it can only give around 13bhp for ~30sec due to limitation of the game.
- adding ~50 additional BHP to compensate for no ERS - in 2014 they have 33sec of 160bhp per lap. Now this can't be really incorporated into this game (I explained it up there) so I thought: They have 160bhp for like 1/3 of the lap (33sec, let's say it's 1/3 on most of the tracks), so by adding 50-55 bhp (1/3 of 160) it could be somehow compensated.
PROBLEMS(due to not being able to mod a game, at least I think so)
- no way of increasing torque
- reducing front & rear grip isn't really solution, due the fact that this years cars have almost the same amounts of grip, BUT HAVE A LOT LESS DOWNFORCE, and of course more TORQUE(350 to 450Nm) which makes rear wheels spin more, but it can also mean that they accelerate faster than 2013 cars. Ideal would be to decrease a grip levels a bit (like 3-4%), decreasing front(narrower front wing) and rear downforce (no more blown diffuser, no horizontal beam), and then increase the torque, but nope...maybe only if there is some acceleration command/string that can be changed, but I didn't see it anywhere)
- 8th gear displayed on OSD - 8th gear is displayed on steering wheel, but not on OSD
So what do you think guys? Any suggestions, feedback?
