with the right car, it is all to enjoy.
It's great how the feel changes with the car. Throwing the GT86 on Eco tires around is just as pleasing as one of the older formula cars or something totally overpowered like time attack car. What does not really fit it for me are GT3s or modern formulas

Not having to do grass might be considered a boost, no? :D

New shaders patch enables procedural generation.

better physics?
The shaders patch also comes with new physics stuff one can implement. As far as I know, if you include such new features in your car, it won't even work (correctly?) in vanilla.

Still, I'm also in the pro shaders patch club so I personally don't really care if it's not working for some.

Granted, while it does not make sense to discuss the physics extensions here since this is a track and not a car (obviously, duh), it does make sense to discuss track related CSP features for a project of this scale. Just looking at the weekly updates we get over patreon shows that this will still take a lot of time. Having features which mean "less work" are a good thing.

For the given example with the new grass shader, I can imagine having to place grass "manually" on such a huge area can be quite tiring and thus slow down other progress as well. So if one can simply set the surface to grass and have the grass appear automagically, one can heavily focus on other stuff.

I'd like him to use this feature. Also, people who don't use the shaders patch for performance reasons might not even be able to use this track in vanilla anyways due to the size of it.

There isn't any performance hit whatsoever on a PC using shaders patch, as its creator added several cpu and gpu engine optimizations that counteract any increase in demands by the patch's options. I am getting the exact same gpu usage as I did a year ago, no patch, on a 5 year old rig.

Don't get your hopes up for getting a test version for rF2 anytime soon. Abulzz clearly stated that AC will be the test platform. Although he said that he may release one once the track get's to a certain point, my best guess is that this is still pretty far off and he doesn't even know himself when this point will be reached.

It's not news it's available information. :geek:
Also, from what we know now you will get your rF2 version, just not an early test version. It's just too much effort to do this for both I guess.
