AMS2 Super V8 @ Cascavel, Thursday 6th April

Automobilista 2 Racing Club event
Balls, just realised I've got my weeks mixed up and I'm out for a curry tomorrow night so will have to miss this one unfortunately.
No worries chap, enjoy the meal! I tried the track out on the server and it seemed ok to me. The temp was 65F / 18C ambient, so fairly warm, but not overly so....

I gave it a try in time-trial yesterday. Was plenty of fun. Although I had major problems keeping front-right in the temp window. 1 or 2 push laps and boom, 120°C. Is it just my setup / shitty driving or is this simply inevitable on this track? To alleviate the issue, probably tire pressure increase on the front right and rear right? But that would reduce grip, right?

So.... did you not suffer the same lock-up issue?

Yeah, I noticed the same. I didn't check if there was another compound option, but I'll probably try a few more laps this afternoon and see if a couple of clicks on the right front help and post the results here.

I did a bit of testing with the tyre temps. Softs just boil after a few laps. Hards are a bit better, but the back feels a lot looser, so trying to keep it on track felt a fair bit more challenging. Increasing the pressure of the softs seems to work, but I had to put about 3 PSI more in to make a noticeable difference:

That corner seems to be about the peak temp and with +3PSI on the FR only I saw about 5C less at that point.

Not sure if this is much help.....

Sorry mate but I'm still at work and won't be home in time for this one

I'm also not free next week, so you'll have to wait a bit longer for me to be here on a Thursday

Super fun racing in the Super V8. Some good battles out there but mostly it's a personal battle just keeping the car on track. Thank you, Scott for organizing.

I'd love to join next week but I'll be at the Long Beach Grand Prix. See you guys later. :)
