AMS2 Stockcar 99 @ Santa Cruz Do Sul, Tuesday 23rd August 2022

Automobilista 2 Racing Club event
Great event!
I have not often driven AMS2 in the multilpayer. But I see potential.
Great car (that I didn't know), great track (too). I will keep my eyes open for further events.

Sorry guys, had to bail again. Iv'e come to realise these cars really arent for me and I'm not enjoying the races as much as the other cars we race. It's my lack of skill I know, but if I can't compete it's no fun. As much as I want support Daniel putting these races on I think I'll avoid these old stock cars for now.

You had damn good pace for someone unfamiliar with the car! It was a great first race with you and I learnt a lot in the first few laps trying to hang on to your tail :D.

@Redvaliant any thoughts on keeping the older stock car going for a bit longer? That one seems a bit more forgiving and the times seemed a lot closer?

I don't really know what happened, but I used to race these offline earlier in the year and I remember them being so much more forgiving than they are now. You seemed to do pretty well with the '86 variant in the last race though.... did you enjoy that one more?

They were a bloody handful that's for sure. We've come to the end of the recurring Stockcars races for now, but the sweet old banger that is the 86 car will return at some stage.
Hmmm, what could be the opposite of these old shtboxes.....

I struggle with all of them and I don't know why as I like most cars without electroinc aids. It must be the American chassis as European cars are so much better.

Really enjoyed these last time, but I'm holiday in Norway next week so cant make it, but the cruise ship I'm on has a F1 simulator that is running AC so that should keep me occupied all week :)

No way! What ship are you on? I did a Norway / Iceland trip a few years back and it was bloody awesome waking up and seeing the banks of the fjords

They look a bit strange though.. View attachment 594075
I read about them a bit more last night. It looks like they have some limited motion (probably yaw only from what I can see in the pic). I'd be interested to know how good you think it is. They also seem to have a time limit of about 5 minutes, so you get 2-3 laps in depending on the track.

You probably already know this, but I also read that you can get the 'credits' for the arcade section before you sail at about 50% of the cost of what it is onboard.

I think you might be right, still it will be better than the usual arcade racers. Not cheap either considering the amount time you get. Tracks I have seen are Imola and Monza, hope there are a few more to choose from.
I have bought a fun pass which gives you £140 of credit that cost £72, hope that lasts a week, but I doubt it will.

Concerning the cars we drove.
They were (at least for me) more controllable with overheated or degraded tires...more slides, Easier to slide AND catch it properly...

Well...I had fun...especially second race.
