I rarely drive here and I always find that with a bit of practice I get really good at the first bit, then it tails off quite drastically.

I know exactly what you mean... Do you have project cars 1 or 2? They are the only sims that allow you to practice the 3 sectors separately so you can learn them much more efficiently!

Remember watching Henri Sinik do this event a
couple of years ago, that’s when I realised all
sim racer were not born equal. He put more energy into one lap than I do in the whole year of racing.
Quite amazing to watch.
By lap 2 at Nordchiefe Endurance I am bleary eyed and dribbling.
