Many many moons ago I used to. My parents once owned a house they rented out and the tenants did a runner. Great thing was when we went to clear the house there was about 100m of scalextric track complete with McLarens :D epic fun.

I should have kept it but it all made it's way on to ebay many many moons ago.

Nothing on a large scale, but I have quite a collection of non-slotted 'slot cars'. Ideal TCR from the 1970's and Tyco TCR (incompatible with Ideal) from the early 90's. 70's sets include glow in the dark cars and Vans. HO Scale - Instead of a slot there is a third rail that can change polarity to force your car to the other lane. So you can change lanes to pass. Most sets also had a 'jam car' that would run about 3/4 speed in one lane to force maneuvers (kind of a simlulated HRT).

The track was not in the best condition and i have a better car now so i can drive 0.3 faster per lap but i only gain in the corners.

I dont usually drive with this car on the track since it is not made for a flat track it is made for a blue king and there is no competition in this car

Well this makes me a bit misty eyed.
I raced slot cars at a very good centre at Waitra in Sydney near my school as a schoolbiy in the early 70s.
It featured a banked track with 8-10 lanes and probably 120 feet in length as well as a flat track.
I remember my first car a McLaren M8A and being upset to learn that Bruce was dead.
I then bought at Porsche 550 Spyder and discovered that without its body it was competitve with much faster expensive machinery.
I seem to recall a fast little engine called a 12A and a slower slogger called a 36D but I'm not so sure on this detail.
The sight of a soldering iron brought back memories of building cars, installing engines, replacing worn bushes.
Great fun, if there wa s site wihin 30 miles I would take it up as a hobby again.
Edit: Well what do you know. 40 years later they are still there!
