Hi, Garry. Great job! I have a doubt. I was testing it on ps4, and the name on simhub appears as id101, id102 and so on. I would like to know if there is a way to change this to the name of the real pilots and how I can do that.
In the Simhub folder../DashTemplates/GS - Options folder... GarySwallowF12019DriverNames.txt file...
Here you will find 99 car numbers with names next to them.
If you look for 44 you will find me as an example.
Now..
These are the car numbers chosen by each player when they setup their driver profile along with their driver name, race suit etc..
Consoles ONLY give an ID number..no driver name or anything... and the ID is not unique to that driver..it is randomly assigned as/when people join the session so if you leave and rejoin you will get a different number..possibly..
So..
Add whatever names you want next to their car number (you will need to ask drivers to choose a unique car number in their settings).
Leave the rest of the names set (or you will get errors) and if anyone joins and it shows one of these other names (ie NoDriver#54) then you know they are driving car 54 and you have not mapped their name...
Now in Simhub..go to additional plugins on the left..then click Gary Swallow Plugin..
You should now see the options gui for my plugin..
On the Misc tab is a toggle switch that allows override of driver names for F12019... this will turn on/off the external driver name file..on demand..
If you leave it on it will save for next time and auto use the file..
Obviously this only really works in league races where you can plan ahead as you know who is driving and what their number is..
Random online lobbies is harder to match names..
But..the game does not give useable name data..so this is the workaround
Understand the process?
