Searching for FPS

I'm having trouble bringing down my FPS in the game. I use CSP 1.51+SOL(no longer adding a PPF) and just barely get 55fps. I've been going through settings in Assetto Corsa setup section of Content Manager one by one, loading the game to see the difference, coming out and trying more settings. Also get in the settings for CSP in Content Manager.

I don't seem to be making any headway. I even click on the info button for a setting where you can get screenshots showing the percentage for each level of that setting. I'll bring the quality down think that should get me a couple of FPS, go back into the game and find either no difference or it's a bit worse. Bit more difficult than other game with a few places to go to adjust quality settings.

I'm just wondering what settings people are finding that give the biggest performance gain by adjusting that may help me with my tweaking? I've been reading on the subreddit others having issues and, like myself, even micro-stutters here and there. Would the makers of CSP+SOL maybe working on some optimizations for the graphics?

My system isn't the star it was 3 years ago or so, but I can still max out setting in all games in the market without issue, so I'm not sure what eating the FPS in AC now. Overclocked CPU/GPU are minor and have had those settings for over 2 years with no issue, so the O/C are solid.

QuadCore Intel Core i7-6700K, 4100 MHz (overclocked)
32 GB Memory
EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 iCX, 11GB GDDR5X (overclocked)
Acer Predator X34 (3440x1440 @ 100hz)

Any help would be awesome!

I just did the overclock of the CPU in the bios/uefi like you mentioned which gave me 7% overclock. I'm guessing that's overall, I'm sure if watched some youtube videos I may be able to squeeze out more. I think the next level was a 15% overclock and there was some instability, so maybe I didn't do so well with the silicon lottery. I have the Asus Maximus VIII Hero motherboard with my i7 6700k(I should have got the 8700k but it was SO pricey when I got all my components). I did see a section in the bios for overclocking where you do this all manually if you know what your doing. Perhaps there you can be specific with cores, but I never delved too deeply in there not knowing what I'm doing.

Yup, installed CSP right after Content Manger. Sticking with v1.51. It seems the most stable, at least for me plus I get that awesome new photo mode. Got a great shot of the new Race Sim Studio Formula Americas 2020. So good to have all my FPS back lol.

Thanks to all contributors for this good read and dito advises! What a difference to disable Camtool2. Not saying that this tool is the only cause of about 30fps difference? Probably has to do with more parameters (e.g. DOF)

In drive mode (so not replay):
Camtool2 enabled 86-90fps average, disabled 124-130fps. DeepForest, Porsche 911RSR 2019, 07:30AM, Scattered Clouds
Obviously exact same settings etc etc. Only unticked the Camtools2 in apps.

CPU i7-7700k, 1080ti-11GB, 32GB ram, 1TB SSD, running on a 2560x1080 75Hz monitor.
If relevant: CSP0.1.55, SOL1.5.1, PP HorizonShades

Edit: Then I thought maybe it has to do with a MOD track in stead of original Kunos? So let's try. Results are more or less the same.
Camtool is a great tool and kudos for the creator but to be honest I was not aware this seems to be so FPS hungry. See example:

Wow, that's a stunner, esp. because it doesn't seem to draw anything to the screen (and as Rasmus says, that's a big source of slowdown for apps). Do you have a link to the app? I'm intrigued enough to look in the source code to see what's going on.

Thanks. I now understand that it's doing some rather unusual things :D

Nice video! It is a bit hungry, but I don't see it as too much of a problem(for myself) as I only use it during replays to capture specific content. I just leave it unchecked until I go to do that and with that other app completely deleted that was hogging most of the performance deleted, I have enough to spare for that. It's good to know though as a good troubleshooting tip if you suddenly run into hug FPS drops. I didn't even consider apps. I"m glad I did a clean install, got some car sounds back that had gone away, but probably just needed to unload an app to fix my issues lol(couple seconds worth of work lol).

For me it's the best tool mankind have created. I can't live without it! And I run with a poor 1050ti at 30fps and I'm a happy guy (with csp, shader n all the blings). Manly because I only play solo.
With it I'm able to do things like this:

Great video! With the music it felt like the opening to a Bond movie. It reminded me I should probably learn to drift:thumbsup:

Thanks for your support (and apologies for my late reply). After the recent SOL, CSP and PP filter updates I still had a task todo --> Check this Camtool2 improvement. And yes it works! Now in game while driving the FPS is as it used to be. In replay it drops which is ok and to understand. Again thanks for the die hard modder community support. Sometimes it looks like higher math to me ;)
