Hey it's me again
It looks that the problem I'm facing could be related to some visual C++ package.
I did a factory reset/clean installation of W10 on this machine, so I had the opportunity to start literally everything from scrath.
After the usual downloading of the most common softwares/drivers, I decided to try and install a clean v1.1 GTR2 version. So I followed these steps (
https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/how-to-install-gtr2-and-png3-in-2019.173928/) and magically everything worked perfectly, the game was running at 73-75 fps with 23 cars and almost everything set to high/full, except for highlights, reflections and shadows.
Since I need some recent C++ package to open certain applications, I decided to download and install this package (
https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/) which basically contains all the Visual C++ packages, so I thought "wonderful, so I can run all the applications that could need a specific C++ package, games etc).
Well, guess what? GTR2 now runs at 55FPS, 60/61 without the on-screen HUD, and all the same behaviors I described in my previous posts.
Does anybody know if there is some bad relationship/incompatibility between GTR2 and some modern C++ package?
Is there a kind of workaround for this?
