that's imo the purpose of the Modding, to push the engine over the limit, so that the devs can see what all can be achieved with their tools , and then they could implement some of those ideas too

About time did it myself not long ago, now I can't understand how someone would go through the painful process of painting a car in 2D, that's insane.

These are all the templates I did so far, with different color combos, using only the 3D layer in Photoshop:

No way I'd do all that with 2D painting.

dunno just couldnt be bothered to figure out what i was doing wrong. first attempt was with the 2017 rsr, was painting the hood and somehow the rear bumper was also getting painted so I threw my toys out of the pram and went back to 2d skins. Also its a lot less effort to get the 2d templates

I've had a similar experience when trying to paint in 3D using PS, takes a bit to get used to. I've struggled a lot at first and almost quit, but then I've got the hang of the controls and how it works, after deciding to give it another shot with more patience.
Always hated to paint cars using a 2D template anyway, so there was no other option for me. It was either get used to 3D paint, or pay someone else to do it.

WOW man thanks , maybe I should have asked you guys before , I searched a few days ago almost 3hrs and started using the wrong font already , had no options ,
was just looking for the Sim GTR logo font for Daniel and saw this with the Motec font we need lol , I can make it mm accurate now the display

The outer of Digital 7 is exact I would say but inside parts are really sharp on the Digital 7 , so its like a 90% match just not rounded enough on the inside .
but it matches the font I asked for

The inside of this one matches the motec but not the oustide lol
so Motec use like a Digital 7 / ION B mix of somewhat

I did some work on the GTR sim back in the day which started out as a mod for F1 2002. I will ask the guy who put this logo together, he might remember the font that was used.

Yours truly playing the voice of the crew chief, 6:33 into the video. I believe I recorded over 300 voice samples, hahha crazy !

Hey what's up, guys. I designed the GTR logo you're asking about. It wasn't based on any font, I did the shapes from scratch, playing around with what would be sort of smooth & minimalist. The final treatment was done by a Swedish designer Matthias something or other IIRC. A buddy of Johan Roos, who was the producer at the time.

I also created the original MoTeC display in the games. For the LCD fonts I just used whatever I found on dafont.com or something like that. You're looking at a later build of it, though, so I'm not sure what font replaced the ones I used.

for the FIA GT RACING GAME part of it, that looks like Eurostile extended, but it's extra bold, which isn't commonly found, not sure exactly what it's called.
