rF2 Rookies Week | Multiclass @ Hockenheim - Fri 02 Dec 2022 *All Free Content!*

rFactor 2 Racing Club event
In qually I just focused on getting a clean lap in to secure the front row spot, which worked.

I had a decent start but for some reason I forgot to pull to the left, leaving me with a terrible line through T1 and had to back off to avoid pushing David too far out. That killed my speed and combined with having to defend a little from David again into T2, Michael was miles out infront after only 3 corners. As I cleared David, I set off to try and catch Michael, but since I had the setup a bit tight in the beginning, but loosen off during the race, progress was slow. A tenths gained here, lost there, you get the pictures.
A little while later, still gaining a tenth every other lap or so, Michael made his aforementioned mistake which I cant blame him, that corner was sketchy all night long.
Got by, got pressured for a while until my car finally started to come in and his to come off. After we entered the 2nd stage of the race, I slowly started to ease off in the distance, the gap growing ever so slightly until he started making mistakes (I could see dust clouds at the same time as the gap increased dramatically), so I eased it off a little towards the end.
Mistake free race with a setup that was balanced enough to keep it from getting too loose. Even managed to keep the front brakes from fading. Well chuffed with well executed plan :)

What GPU are you using? Is it OC by default? Temps are ok?
Had a lot of troubles with my nvidia cards. 1080 Ti randomly started crashing after a year, took me a while to realize it was the card and not a specific game. Had to downclock / undervolt t to keep working. Replaced it with a 3080 Ti recently. That card died after 5 months. Got it replaced and it still crashed from day 1. Now also using the new one undervolted, since then I had no more issues.

Wow.

I've used nVidia since my first proper PC (that I picked parts for myself) in 2011, never had a single issue.
Or, never had a single issue in regards to GPU if I wait a couple of days before updating drivers. I got burned by that bluescreen of death due to f'd driver. Other than that, all fine.

Use a nvidia rxt 3090
Temp. Dont know because can find any logfile about the issue bluescreen

I would love to have one of your awful races :p

Looked awesome when you and @Jan Larsen fighting for 1st and 2nd in GT4 lapped me and @SwannyUK fighting for 1st and 2nd in TC :)
Yeah, thats why I love multiclass racing :). I guess we both used you two to get an advantage, hence making it a bit hectic.
Tbh, I had actually forgotten about the Clio's because I was concentrating on hitting my marks 100% as that was what was required to catch Michael. So when I saw Clio's starting to show up early in the race, I thought to myself 'who the hell is THIS slow???' Then it dawned...

Try to have this running in the background, it can create log files over a longer period of time with all kinds of stats so you should be able to see what happens temp or voltage wise when the crashes occur https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-gpu-z/
What 3090 manufacturer do you have? There seem to be issues with some Gigabyte cards.
It's speculative (as the title says) but if you are a bit into circuit design this was an interesting video
which seems to be the thing I have been running into. Basically says the VRM design is not ideal on these cards. I used ASUS GPU Tweak to set a power target of 80% and slightly downclocked the GPU and have no more issues since then.
It could be something totally different but monitoring the stats could give a hint about whats going on.

Yup, I am that slow :roflmao:

I was catching someone early on, but then got caught by the GT4s. The Clio suited me though. I found that in practice I was 6 seconds off the leading cars in the GT4 and was struggling to find more pace. In the Clio I was only 2-3 secs behind the leading cars, but felt there was more time to be had. It was a fun race though.

I have a MSI Primus 3090 card

Ok. So. Finally gotten around to do the results, stats and all that from the last months.

Octoberfest: https://ommyrvold.net/rdrf2/octoberfest.html
Only two Friday-events that month.

Then we had Naugthy November last month: https://ommyrvold.net/rdrf2/naughty_november.html

And this race was the start of Cold December: https://ommyrvold.net/rdrf2/cold_december.html

This all leads to an updated all time stat list that can be found at the same place as it always can be found: https://ommyrvold.net/rdrf2/all_time_stats.html

And no @rockracer I have no idea why you show up twice in that list, and why those 2 races for the "new Dan Rock" isn't counted on the other Dan Rock.

Think it's because I switched to my new PC at Watkins Glen race !
