AC RDEC @ Spa - Saturday 24th April 2021

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Still hope I can wake up in time. Will stick with the Z4 for now.
Just realized in two short practice sessions, I would need more practice for the LMP1 then I have time to get up to a decent speed. Will be interesting to see how GT3 and GTE will sort themself through the field.

They are fairly specialised alright. Probably need to commit to a few races in them to get up to speed. I might give them a try and see...

I am registered with the Porsche 911 GT3 R 2016.
This will be my first online race.
Do I really have to change my Discord name to the full real name?
My Steam and Discord name is Player7six.
I can rename my RD name to this on next week.

No, I am also not using my real name in Discord.
Only for the SGP registration its needed so that you real name shows up in the races. I would also advise to use your real name when joining the RD practice servers.
Not sure if its 100% necessary in the forum but its nice to know the "real" person behind the nick name.

I ask because of the note in the second post:
"Note: Please use your full real name in Discord. Not doing so may result in you being kicked from the server if an admin cannot identify you as a premium member."

To get access to RD races in SGP you have to be a Premium Member in the first place. Has nothing to do with Discord.
SGP also uses you real name. You can link your Discord to that platform to join communities that require it.
But then again you dont need the real name in Discord, cause you already have it "registered" in SGP which is connected to Discord with your name. So in the races you sign up for, it will always show your real name.

If there will be any issues in the future, the admins will tell you in advance. Normally no one is getting kicked from a server without a warning and a request to change something. So far I didnt had any issues not using my real name in Discord and like 70-80% of the drivers here also only using their nick name.

Edit: Just realized. We use Discord as a replacement for Teamspeak, the real name was required there. That might be why it is asked now. But again, you have your real name here, real name in the race sign up, real name on the AC server. So the admins know who you are and if you have premium ;)

easiest would be to use the same name in Discord as you use as your forum nick, most of us doing it that way.

Good afternoon gents. I am in the process of migrating this back to the RD servers. Times conditions etc. will all remain the same.

If anyone knows the usernames of the guys in red above please give them a tag here and I will add them to the entry list

If anyone wants in, change of car or can't make it please let me know here, as I will be removing the s.gp event.

:coffee:

I am faster on a single lap with the corvette. Maybe it's my setup but I make more mistakes with the Corvette: in a 1 hour race I will probably be faster with the Porsche.

Ye it is tricky. I've driven it heavily BOP'd a few times so I'm having to get used to it being a bit less stable. There is alot of weight shifting about in the corners! The mercedes gt3 i took out at brands was a good warmup for it. I like the notion of driving a 911 but can never get any pace out of them!

Just to help, I am quicker in the Corvette too, and do not have any stability problems with the car, just never been a V8 nut.
I find it such a pleasure with the 911, can use softs for the race, and a sound track to die for always leads me to this car.
But if it is outright pace then it has to be the Corvette, I am nearly 0.5 to 0.75 seconds quicker, track temperature dependant.:)

Registered for now, but have the same issue as Dimitri. WIll definitly skip practice and see if I feel awake enough at 6:50 for Qualifying :D

I did some open lobby races at spa with GT3 vs GTE. They were totally mixed in the results, sometimes a GTE sometimes a GT3 won. I think except the Kemmel Straight and Blanchimont GT3s can keep GTE at bay for a while.

Will be interesting to see how things turn out.
The GTE/GT3 qualifying should start @ '7am' - that's an extra 10 precious minutes of sleep :D.

@Interslice , Talking of qualifying, the time allotted to the classes seems a tad uneven:
  • 10:50 UTC (11:50 DST) | LMP1 Qualification (10 minutes) - 6 cars
  • 11:00 UTC (12:00 DST) GTE/GT3 Qualification (10 minutes) - 14 cars

An extra 5 for GT cars?
