AC RDEC Round 1 @ Sebring - Sunday 26th March 2023

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Thank you all, will stick with it, you never know I may get comfortable with it all. :roflmao::roflmao:

I run 6 rear and 4 front wing Enzo.

I also found where my over a second a lap went, I would tell, but as I spend most of my efforts on setting up my cars, that leads me into admitting that I really am an idiot.

For some reason I just could get no pace from this car, I suspect I have been over fiddling with the setup and managed to make the car slower to the point where there was too much to do to get it back again.
But and this is a big but, I really struggled in this multi class large “discrepancy” racing, I think it is all me , as others do not appear to suffer in the same way.
I was enjoying my battle with a fast charging Enzo, even though the out come was enevitable, I managed to give him a battle for some laps. To then come across a gte car that lost me so much time, probably me not taking the appropriate risk. Most would have barged though, but I waited out the corner, only to be pounced on and quickly dispatched by our Enzo. That was not the problem, the problem was that I decided to be more decisive and force my my through the next pair of Gte drivers only to cause havoc.:O_o:
I don’t think I have the right instinct for this type of racing.:(

Ernie, I am not sure if you are referring to the incident when I hit you at the hairpin so apologies if that cost you a lot of time, it certainly did cost me.

Thinking back, I knew you were coming and moved over to the right but you were not past me in time for me to get back over to the left for the race line.

As a result I had to stay right which meant I had a tight line and didn't start braking early enough both to make the corner and to avoid hitting you.

I see it as the challenge of this type of racing, although the big speed difference does make it difficult to judge.

Next time I will stick more to the racing line so the faster car knows what I am doing.

Nooooo Douglas not at all, it was a not a problem, I was just having problems dealing with the GTE class, that was annoying for me, I was just not dealing with it all effectively,
I was very happy with all drivers , it was me that was the problem.
:(

After that, I had a race-long battle with @thom462. You must be bored of seeing the rear of a Toyota after that. He sat on my tail for about an hour in the race. You were quick through the first few corners, and had amazing top speed down the back straight, but the only thing keeping me ahead was the Hybrid of the Toyota. More boost per lap meant I had a little bit in hand each lap to use to gap whenever Thomas got close or I made a small mistake out the corner.
Yes, was a fun race. As you said I think I was faster in sector 1 but there was no way at rest of the track (except the very end of the straight, but was too risky to send it) so no chance to get away after my only overtake, just was getting out of Audi boost too soon.
At the start I thought I can not spent all boost and just used it shortly. Well, lost 2 positions instantly. As you had the accident shame I could not avoid driving into you as there was a gt right beside me, so that lead to a full stop.
Great racing, looking forward to the next ones, still learning how to get the most out of that energy management.
cu next time
