Track Limits
Article 6.1 of the
2016 RaceDepartment League Regulations states that all drivers must maintain at least two wheels within the white lines of the track
at all times when under normal control of their car. Whilst article 6.1 applies to the entire race track, the stewards will pay particularly strong attention to the following areas of the track. The cutting penalties outlined in the
Stewards Notice Board thread will be applied to drivers who take liberties with these areas too often.
Paddock Hill Bend (Turn 1)
Paddock Hill's famous for its downhill right hand curve being one of the best curves of the world. The curve contains a green extra turf area after the kerbs that drivers use to maintain car stability. Doing the same is
legal here as there's no time advantage for the car + the impossibility of putting 3-4 tires on it due to its length.
Graham Hill Bend (Turn 3)
Turn 3 is a tight left hand curve that drivers often finding themselves in the grass/cobblestone kerb section on the outside of the kerbs of the turn exit. Drivers often use the full extent of this section to get good lap times. That will be considered
illegal, as that could give drivers a time advantage. The only occasion using that area is legal is in case an accident and that's the only safe area you can go at the moment.
Westfield Bend (Turn 6)
Westfield is a downhill right hand curve that drivers can take an aggressive entry line and use a small grassed cobblestone kerb section on the exit, doing what would be an ideal line. However drivers that cut by having more than 2 wheels off the line in the inside kerb of Westfield could find them penalized. The outside of the kerb having drivers can use the grassed cobblestone section for car stability as long the 2 wheels in track is respected.
Sheene Curve (Turn 7)
Sheene is a "blind apex" uphill right hand curve. Cutting the corner is easy here, so avoid a heavy aggressive entry could implicate in the car cutting the inside corner of the curve.
That's a cut, however, the outside grass cobblestoned part can be used as a natural kerb in case the car goes wide.
Pit Lane Exit
Drivers must not exceed the white line on the exit of the pit lane which guides you safely back to the racing line, at any point during Qualifying or the Race. If caught doing so, you will be given an automatic 10 second time penalty added to your race time. Drivers are allowed to cross it during the practice session, provided it does not cause an incident. If it does cause an incident, then the affected driver is free to submit an incident report.
Incident Reporting
If you feel you've been unjustly disadvantaged by a fellow driver breaking our
League Regulations, you are free to submit an incident report to the league director via Private Message, which will then be submitted to an independent steward panel from the staff group who will review it and issue a verdict.
The report consists of a video + description of the incident.
Reports will be accepted up to Monday 23:59 GMT post-race. Any later and they won't be considered.
Teamspeak
Teamspeak will be Mandatory for the league, as the race director may use whisper messages to communicate everything needed. Make sure to properly set up TS for whispers, using the same settings as the screenshot below. Speakers must be activated at all times during qualifying and race.
