Puh...
Gratz to Anders! Really nice battle, as allways with you! You were faster, you deserve it!
But first pole her at RD for me! I hoped for it as I knew my car was fast here. But I was totaly unsure about my race setup. It was also fast but not that consistent and therefore I did not know what will happen to the tires. I decided to go not that aggressive for the race. As usual, my Caddy was bad on brakes and into the corners, but good out the corners and on the straight. So I was not that nervous about Hugo and Anders behind me. But I did not found my rythm in the first laps.
After Hugo made a mistake, I was able to go a second faster, for some reason^^. Now I had Anders on my back for over the half race. With about 30 Minutes to go, I tried to open a gap, but I was not able to pull away. Just some tenth and after a small mistake, he was back on my bumper. So I went back to try to do a "zero mistake job". But I did a small one in turn one and Anders slipped through.
Then again I was a bit out of my rythm for two or three laps and Florian closed the gap. So I needed to try the same again. But then, my **** shifting paddles trapped us both^^. About three laps to go, he tried to attack me. I closed the inside line before the hairpin with the downhill braking zone. Right before turn in, I shifted down to second, but the shifting paddle bounced and the gearbox went into first gear^^. The result was a 90° spin on turn-in. Florian had no chance and spun, too. I am really sorry, Florian! That was not the end of our battle I thought about! I hope, that was not the reason why you quit the race?
Kjell slipped through and grabbed second place. I finished third and am lucky to be on the podium after the incident. I did not really hoped for the win, I thought that I could not hold everyone up for the whole race. But after Anders went through, I thought I could hold P2. But things happen^^. I am happy to be on the podium, anyway.
Grats again to Anders for the win! And to Kjell for second. And again, Florian, big sorry!
And finally, thanx to Remco, Ivo and RD for the race!
